YANKEE
This is absofuckinglutely awful…
https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/80238711
So awful that I became completely addicted; the shallowness of the characters, the plots that start and then just get forgotten, the bad acting, you name it, if it's bad they've got it. It is marvelous in its utter crapness.

I have a SOTY (show of the year)… PERPETUAL GRACE... Makes me slightly less depressed now that my '15 and '18 SOTY show is cancelled: PATRIOT... Same director, writer, and mostly the same actors...

This will help you get over it. Very dark and funny.

Ah man, No more Patriot? I LOVED that show. Remember seeing the pilot and having an agonising 3 month wait for the full first series. Edward and his attaché!!!
Cheers for the heads up on PERPETUAL GRACE, wasn't on my radar at all but it will be binged this weekend.

I seriously hope another tv station is picking it up… Just like the new THE EXPANSE series will be bonkers now that it's on Amazon...
I'm currently watching season 3 of The Expanse. I like

That's great news, nephy… I kinda gave up after 5 eps of the last season but will soldier on... It wasn't bad, but it lacked drive, direction,... Or maybe I lacked drink, focus,...
I know exactly what you mean. But it picks up and you realise they were laying necessary groundwork for a spectacular end result.

Mindhunters second season on Netflix now. Fincher hits the ground running.

We have been trawling terrestrial tv, Amazon, and Netflix for something decent to watch. TV has become so saturated that it's hard to find really intelligently written and well produced series that don't lose us mid series. Writers seem to depend on the same formulas regardless of genre. Characters are given little depth, poorly written humour is often used to try and add colour to programs, and as for series length, keep to 8 episodes, Please! No one needs to sit through 12-18 episodes with a 'mid season' break.
Please recommend something gritty, well scripted, with lead characters that you can believe and invest in…The Wire series 1, True Detective series 1...the last series we stuck with wad Hannah. It was ok, but again tailed off towards the end.
