Nice! At this rate they’ll look killer after another seven months.

My first pair arrived yesterday. Call me newbie but holymarymotherofgod I may have to say a whole lot of Hail Marys–-and I'm not Catholic--- just to make it through the first day. This is gonna be some satisfying work and I've actually climbed in the Himalayas. Dang.
So stupit [sic] question. Have any of you done a first soak wearing the pants in the shower? And is this a particularly bad idea?
-
I seem to remember doing this in my 666-XHS and panicking because I couldn’t unbutton the button just under the top button once they were wet. It was a monumental struggle lol.

Do it. Man strength.

It's a maxim that all converts are zealous. Call me both.
I still haven't washed these 777-25s but I've not given them quite enough time and I've been swapping out with a 666-25–- and now I've just scored a 634-25 (from Pinkomo in Finland, thank you!!!). Being a newbie, I've been experimenting with fits and weights. And so far, I've been lucky--- I seem to be able to fit different ways for different looks. I'm very much looking forward to the incoming 555-25oz and the 888- in January 2019. I've not yet tried 888s in any weight but given how much I love 634s, I'm looking for a good waist fit before I jump.
There's a lot of winter where I live, a lot of cold, wet, and rough weather, and 25oz is proving so comfortable, warm, just damn perfect. Today that good life involves a fine Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand and a copy of the Iliad, both sort of in the picture below. I can recommend the Dog Point Vineyard wine and the Fagles translation of the Iliad for all you heroes out there.

First soak. Four months of wear.
Holy Mary Mother of God, these are now as stiff again as they were when they arrived. They look great but show virtually no fades or marks. My father, who was for the most part a bastion of bad advice, once said that all good things take time.
Now I'm sure of it. Onward. I dig this. -
Quick question before I purchase these (pending restock, that is), because these are sanforized, most of the soaking/washing shrinkage will stretch back out (barring length), does this hold firm for the thigh?
Reason, 12.1 is a great thigh for me, perfect. I like 12.0, also, but anything below that is a no go. I don't want to size up because then the top block will just be too big and bulky. So, experiences on thigh shrink/stretch?
Thanks, guys.

Hi there.
They will shrink everywhere although not as much as UHR or other unsanforised denim.
They will stretch out to (or possibly over) the original pre-wash measurements, where they are put under pressure (so in the thigh for sure). It is a slower process than with the 21oz for example, so be prepared for a couple of weeks of discomfort.
Another option (what I did with my 666-XHS in fact) is to wear them unsoaked for a while and break them in before washing/soaking.
