IH-526L - 19oz Left-Hand Twill Selvedge Denim Type III - Indigo

Freaking insane!! What a badass jacket and a work of art!! Well done, James.
I’m curious. I know how rigid this denim is. But I’m kinda wondering from a few of the guys who have given it hell for a year or two or even 10 like Twin.
Is there another denim to compare how soft it gets after all that time and wear? Mine is getting softer. Still stiff-ish…but quite a bit softer.
How does this denim compare after a good solid beat down?
- Like a lightly worn XHS?
- Medium broke in 21oz indigo?
- Medium to well worn some other type of denim?
-
Mine can still stand after a soak.
That don’t matter. What you got realise is the cotton is different than the 21oz and 25oz
Get softer with wear but still tuff. You got to experience the ride.
Mine is 13 months now.

Hi @Kasi, was reading your soak / washing suggestions from a few months back. When would you just soak and not wash? If you hand wash in the tub with detergent, is that different from soaking? Just trying to see when a soak vs. wash is appropriate and what the difference is (if not using the washing machine but hand washing).

First Soak first get all the shrinkage out. Brought new
Wash when dirty.
Soak in bath you may hand wash it.
After that wash in the machine 30° no spin.Hand wash does more than machine.
Will clean more. Until your happy with itI do use detergent. In the bath

@Kasi - not seen photos of your lefty for a while. Is jt getting much wear?

This has probably been mentioned before but is 19oz the highest that LH twill can go?
Why there is no 21 or 25 oz in Lh? -
Am still wearing it.
Am going away in 3 weeks time
Gonna wash it’s dirty
Will post some photos after wash
-
@Kasi - cool. Would like to see those.

No

Same reason as there is no slubby 16, 17, 18, 19, 21 or 25oz or no natural indigo denim in anything other than 17oz (well apart from the new NI that is coming out this season,) etc, etc, etc
We have limited resources, we simply can't make everything that we like. Frankly we make too many cuts/denim options already.........
Not to say we wont add another cut or 2, or another denim or another denim/cut, but we really need to rationalise.
It'll create pain if we do cut some of what we already to, I still get shit for killing the Beatle Buster and we've tried to kill the 1955 multiple times
It's a classic example of one of my favourite truisms, Ask 100 people what their ideal cut/denim would be, and you'll get 101 answers.....

@Giles Thanks for that informative answer Giles.
I was thinking maybe it just wasnt possible for some reason— being left handed.
So true about asking 100 people—and with the daily request on items people would like to see made—- its without an end
Ill enjoy my 634 19s as long as they last.
Getting the trucker jacket will have to wait until next restock.
And even then its going to be a feeding frenzy when it drops next time. -
@dinobarnesberlin they did make 21L at a point — I have a pair of 666 in it but can’t really fit into them anymore. It’s cool denim but is absolutely nothing like the 19L at all. It’s a lot softer and is pretty stubborn to fade. I do think it’s cool denim; some people loved it but in my own personal opinion, I like the regular 21oz better.

I’m not sure what’d happen if, say, they made a 25L or something, could be super cool, but I’ll say all day long that the 19L is way more fun than the 21L. Once again though, just an opinion.
