IH-666S-18 - 18oz Vintage Selvedge Denim Slim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
-
No plans as yet…..
Maybe it's time to make some haha no worries, my lately evolved love for that cut makes me thinking about what denim should be my next… 777N would be an option too but the 18oz vintage fades are absolute stunners!
any plans of a 777 in this denim?
I asked Alex this as well recently lol.

Wow those bad boys ^^^ look fantastic

Hi Guys
A quick question and fit check please. Just got these in size 33, and the waist is perfect - fitting but not too tight. The top block though, especially the thighs, is quite snug/tight. Maybe due to the crunchiness of the denim.
Any idea how much stretch the 18oz denim gives?
-
You’ll get a bit of stretch in the thighs but not a ton. The fit looks fine to me, but the lighting in the pic isn’t great so I can’t tell just how tight the thighs are for sure. Maybe take some pics outside in the sun?

Same here, I had perfect waist so I used a belt, hence there was hardly any waist stretch. However my thighs were quite snug and have seen .5 inch stretch exactly and now its quite relaxed.
If you are looking for over .5 inches stretch, you need to return. But.5 is easy in one week of wear.
(I never posted my pics here, will today soon)

My Out of Box measurements W34:
Waist : 34.4
Rise : 10.8
Hip : 21.7
Thigh : 12.2
Knee : 8.9
Hem : 8.2Measurements after 2 months wear, 2-3 wears in a week along with other pants in rotation. Gently warm/hot hand soaked 3-4 times so far :
Waist :35.5
Rise : 10.8
Hip : 22.4
Thigh: 12.6
Knee: 8.9
Hem : 8.2From your fit pics, the pair looks too tight and uncomfortable as per my taste, but its your call that really matters. I would usually choose a pair that is not too uncomfortable even to start with. You can expect .5 inch stretch in the thigh and a little more in the hips.
Here are some fit pics after 2 months of reasonable use in rotation with other pairs. I cant wait to machine wash this pair. I usually wait for a few months for the creases to set in before a machine wash to clean up all the starch and enjoy the smoothness.
Btw, this pair is very breathable, not too bad for summers at all.

That’s a great fit @gautamkrisna

Thanks so much for your replies, comments, and measurements @xtcclassic @gautamkrisna !
Got home after work yesterday, did some measurements, and tried it on again. Concluded that its too small While wearable, I agree its too tight and uncomfortable. I`ll probably need a size up to W34 or maybe an altogether different cut with more room in the top block.
Unfortunately, I can't return it as I got it hemmed to 34 inches. So will try selling it!
P.S: Great fit pics @gautamkrisna !

If the size 33 waist is OK yet hips and thighs are tight, then another cut may suite you better. You may find with a 34 the waist is too big even if the hips and thighs are OK. The 666 cut fits me similarly - doesn't work. 634 and 888 are better suited to my build. Also check out SE has a 633 version in the 18oz vintage, if you prefer more taper below the knee. But then again the measurements on the 634S-18 are one of the best of the 634 range. The 18oz vintage is one of IH's greatest denims.

I am glad that I took your advice and stuck to it. i have one of the best fitting pair. Also glad that I did not go for the XHS instead in the Summer ( I was leaning to XHS before I consulted to you ). Appreciate.
I am interested in getting a 666S-21 a few months later after summer passes but I am concerned that it has even slimmer thighs @ wider waist. Do you have any experience.

Yeah, its such a pity the top block/ thighs on the 666 are so slim. Im 6 ft 177 lbs and suspect my build is similar to yours. This precludes the 777 too.
I have the 634s-21 and its such a brilliant pair of jeans. As for the 888s - the rise looks a tad too long; coupled with the strong taper, its not really my thing.
Thanks for the tip and I`ll check out the 633s! Hopefully the 18oz vintage denim will be extended to more of the cuts too!

@Crash84
If I were you, I'd make the attempt to stretch them out because they're sanforized and one washed so give that a try first before selling. Suck it up, Buttercup! Thanks so much for your replies, comments, and measurements @xtcclassic @gautamkrisna !
