IHSH-170 - Indigo Dyed 10oz Check Selvedge Flannel Work Shirt
-
@Madame:
I think we have a few in next week…..
But I remembered when I was lying around awake last night, that we will be offering those on a first come, fists served basis to the 30 or so people who requested a "mail alert' before I managed to turn it off. They may never make it online.
I'll be looking at this on Monday or Tuesday when the shirts arrive…
@Filthy25ozJunkie - nice cop from SE and I'm loving the Magnum PI 'tache!

Any of you fine fellas feel like doing a thickness comparison of this versus a UHF (like cuff against cuff?)…really curious as to how this matches up in terms of girth/warmth.
Is this feeling like a winter shirt or more of a spring shirt? (Thanks in advance )
@Giles given interest in this shirt, are you thinking similar numbers in terms of shirts made for the western?
-
@Dstauffer I'd say it's actually pretty lightweight compared to a UHF. I wore mine today and it was about 75 degrees and it wasn't too bad. It's not warm enough for when it's too cold though. I was freezing by the time I made it to the mountains.

I'm probably going to get a micrometer and start measuring my Iron Heart stuff. Especially the 25oz denim before and after soaks. I can then give people a this is how thick it is on a bias visual representation. Kind of like this:
I'm certain the denim gets thicker after a soak. I'm intrigued by how much of a measurment. I can do the same for shirts and show a comparison for people.I'd say this shirt is roughly 1/3 the thickness of a UHF and much less insulative because it is not brushed. The fibers have that same IH 21oz sheen. I expect it to get the same softness after a period of wearing. @Dstauffer

@Dstauffer I agree with @Filthy25ozJunkie that because of the brushed aspect of the UHF the warmth to thickness ratio will be much higher than the unbrushed 170 or 129s. So though the 129 is not 'warm' shirt its thickness keeps me from wearing it above the low 70's.
Why was 8 afraid of 7? Lol
My 127 v1 'eight' my 129… (grabs hat and coat)

Concur with the right honorable gentlemen above, this one will be very versatile, a true "3 season" shirt in places with distinguishable seasons.
I say "will be" because MD has been a windy tundra since this guy landed, and I've been logging more UHF mileage.

@Dishelveled Really great pictures!

Cool, @Jett129 –that's a U.S. quarter stuffed in there as reference that I forgot to mention.
Happy to help out where I can, as my way of paying back the wealth of information I've been able to glean from IHUK!

Has anyone ever tried taking a macro shot by placing a drop of water on their camera phone lens?
