@Giles is that shirt you're wearing the 169 or the 167?

How wind resistant is the whipcord?

That's a tough question to answer. I have the jacket and the brown pants. I find them to be quite good in windy conditions, but I don't really know how to describe it. Fairly resistant to wind?

Whipcord is a tightly woven fabric used for military (it's used for Deck Jackets) and workwear purposes, it's pretty windproof. That said, we do put an additional layer of windproof fabric between the outer and the liner in our deck jackets (not sure any other brand does).

These look really great. I got the brown ones. Unfortunately, I will have to sit these out for the foreseeable future. More pics when you gentlemen receive them. I love the whipcord, and 816 is my favorite cut really. So comfortable, but still easy to dress up or beat the shit out of.

Is this whipcord material comfortable to wear in the summer? I copped a pair of these and they are en route but my intention is to wear them during the summer months like I do the khakis. Hopefully I'm not way off the mark with my thinking here.

I'm hoping to wear them in the summer too. The brown ones haven't seen a summer yet, so I don't know for sure, but I think they will be fine.

It is fairly dense fabric, but I could wear them in pretty warm temperatures myself. It really depends on your own body and what you find uncomfortable. I would say that they would not be my go-to summer pants, but not out of the question either. I imagine that to be the least helpful reply I have ever given, but there you go.

Right on par with most of my responses. I've worn every other IH non-denim pant I own in AZ during the summer. These ones might be too hot for daytime use. I'll report back after I've tried them out.

Thanks for the replies guys.
@DrBabyhorse I didn't realize you are in Az too. I look forward to hearing your report on this. I might have to send these back and pick up a pair of the 717's instead.

and just checked the 717's and the 34's are sold out. Of course.
