There's no Such Thing as a Stupid Question

Pre soaking reduces the chances of streaking. Agressive spin can cause streaking. Also the agitators of Washers in the US cause streaking.

@wdw:
Just read back a few pages. What's the reasoning behind soaking stuff (superblack, maybe others?) before putting it in the washing machine? And what is it that makes the white lines on some stuff? The spin alone?
The white lines are caused by abrasion. Some fabrics are thick, stiff or both and they can crease sharply in the machine. The edge of the crease is exposed to abrasion giving white lines. Low spin lessens the effect while putting the clothes in wet prevents the sharp creases.

Thanks, @Matty123. I just picked up on the pre-soak thing last week, never having done it before, but will do it in future. I ruined a pair of CF 23oz blacks by getting streaks all over them a couple of years ago, but I wasn't struck on them anyway, so no loss, except to my wallet.

And thanks to you too, @neph93. The abrasion thing on heavy fabrics explains my 23oz fiasco.

Where is the list of IH retailers? If I click the link in this page …

... it takes me back to ...
???
Whoops, we recently changed the way we present the retailer listing and forgot to update the "iron Heart Stockists" thread. I have done that now, but here you are:

…I've got to get my hands of some of this O.G. wabash, someday. It's so different. Always wanted the chore coat, but I don't think very many were made...
I borrowed the above sentences from another thread here.
What does O.G. mean?

Original Gangsta
…actually I'm joking, I don't know what it means.
-
And here I was thinking I'd make a funny remark about being gangsta, but then it turned out to be correct…
A question that needs an answer: Why within the denim community do we "cop" things when we buy them? I rarely see that term being used outside of denimhead-land.

Has IHUK ever considered doing an annual calendar contest to showcase artistic/quirky/fun photographs of Iron Heart products? I enjoy entering the Spyderco forum calendar contest every year, and while clothing would probably be way more challenging a muse than knives to use for artsy-fartsy photography… it could lead to some interesting shots. Plus, y'know... Prizes are always good

Interesting question. It’s used by sneakerheads too. Where I grew up in Liverpool it was part of the local dialect. If I was pushed I’d guess it was originally British English street slang and has snuck into international clothing nerd jargon via the interwebs.

No, but we have done a few photography competitions and participation was really poor….
