There's no Such Thing as a Stupid Question

When we sign up for product release/restock notifications, does anything happen apart from the obvious sending of emails at the relevant time? I’ve been wondering if something clever happens and the number of sign ups somehow informs decisions about ordering stock or scheduling production for restocks.

If we have that data when we place an order on Japan we use it to help us work out what to order, but typically that data is being added to up until the date of release, so it's a bad indicator at best. That coupled with the fact that we only convert about 20% of the sign-ups (go figure - I guess some people just like to know what is being released and when), makes the data even less accurate…..

I did a "register of pre-interest" once. "We are making this, sign up here if you want to buy one and let us know what size", we got well over a 100 sign-ups and only about 20 sold when we released them.
It made me realize that doing stuff like that was pointless without any financial commitment and that about 80% of the population are as flakey as fuck….

Oh man, I feel called out here LOL
I have absolutely clicked on the notify button but been too antsy for something to be restocked and found an alternative in the mean time. Case in point, I was waiting for those Iron Heart diamond stitched leather shoulder bags last year but a scheduled trip was coming up and I went with an alternative.
Next time I go to click on that Notify button, an image of Giles disappointingly shaking his head is going to pop up in my head

I'm totally guilty of this. In fact, I just upped for three different pieces of denim as the style and color I'm after were out of stock. So I added emails to several with the idea that I'll buy the first style that becomes available. If I'm to finally procure my first pair of IH denim, better do it right, yah?

Hey guys - did something happen to the Buy/Sell Trade page in Marketplace? I can't see it logged in to my account/even when not logged in? Just wondering if others have seen this too - Thanks

Hi,
What exactly the different between IHSH-99 vs IHSH-293OD as far as material or the way it dye?
Beside the obvious: 17oz vs 18oz, 1 is retired vs not?
The 99 shrunk almost 1 size so it won't shrink anymore after wash? vs 293 will shrink some?
One feel different vs the other? fade different?…Thanks,

Overdyeing takes all the shrinkage out of any fabric. So the 293 is also fully shrunk.
Otherwise the 17oz and 18oz are quite different. The 17oz was devised as a very heavy shirting denim. Relatively tight weave and even hand. The 18oz on the 293 was originally devised as denim for vintage style jeans. It has a slightly looser weave and a little more texture.
The major point regarding fading is that they are both indigo denim that has been garment dyed with black fugitive dye, so go black>indigo/grey>white. I don’t think one fades quicker than the other, but the 18oz may have the edge due to its greater texture.

Thank you so much for the good learning info.

Why are some of my pictures unable to upload? Thought the file size was too big so I resized to smaller than another picture that worked, still no dice.
