IH-888S-21 - 21oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - Indigo

Using the Compare function should help understand the differences. It’s all in the numbers. Take the IH-555-01, the IH-777S-21 and the IH-888S and use them to get an idea. The info here https://www.ironheart.co.uk/content/our-cuts-jeans and here https://ironheart.smugmug.com/PHOTOS/Cut-Guides/Cut-Guide/ will also help.
It’s all relative but I would say that the 888 is a high rise, regular width, tapered jean. It is overall wider than the 555 through the whole leg with a meaningfully higher rise than the 555. It tapers from the middle of the thigh.
The 555 and 777 are both slim tapered jeans. The 555 has a high medium rise, the 777 has a low medium rise. I wouldn’t say the 555’s have more taper than the 777’s. From knee to hem the 777’s have more taper in fact. The 555’s are a slimmer fit over all though as the taper starts higher up the leg and gives a slimmer knee than on the 777’s. Compare knee measurements to confirm.
While @Dion is right that the 555’s have more room in the top block, I shred them super quick as well. Some body types will do that to slim fitting jeans regardless of room in the top block.

The top button took a little bit of effort to fasten but nothing ridiculous and I felt them easing up on the waist fairly quickly.
I cuffed them to about where I think the length should be. Can I get any opinions on the length before I send them back for hemming?
They measure approx 32" on the inseam when they are cuffed as in the photos. Does 32" look right or should I go a little longer?
Thanks!

Think I managed to get the fit just how I want as well.
Congratulations, that’s great news. The 21oz is lovely stuff and the cut looks very good for you. Happy to help.
Thanks, they feel perfect really. Exactly what I wanted in terms of cut.
The measurements provided and information on Iron Hearts site along with advice on here were all a massive help.

Depends how you want them. I’d say that as they are you’ll end up with enough for a relaxed fit, with a little stack or enough for a simple cuff, if you want those options available. If you want a break from the knee then a drop to the hem, without stacks you could go a little shorter I suspect. Difficult to say from pics though…

I don't tend to cuff my denim and don't really want stacks on this pair. I would prefer a little extra length over them being a bit short though. Somewhere around 32" should be about right. Maybe 32.5" to play it safe

@cosmic55 I’d say you nailed it. They break perfectly and the hem sits just right. Great job. Now to beat them up
Thanks, I reckon they are about perfect. The waist is stretching out nicely as well and should be spot on.
Always found it hard to believe when I read that the 21oz denim is really comfortable but these feel great already and should only get better.

Did you wash/soak them first?

No, haven’t washed or soaked yet but am I right in thinking this isn’t necessary as the 21oz is sanforized and once washed?

You just might get a tad bit of shrinkage in the length which is why it's generally a good idea to soak and agitate them a bit before hemming or just take a little less off if you aren't going to soak/wash before hemming. You should be good though.

I’ve washed 21oz on 90C Max spin and nothing has happened. Any tightening you get from a wash can be countered by giving the inseam a long hard pull, (as the actress said to the bishop) while still wet from a wash.

I've gotten a tab bit of shrinkage in the length from washing my 21oz.
