Shoveling a couple feet of snow in Ship John and Iron Heart gear. The best combo.

Got also my XXL Long version of Wills Tan jacket. Mixed feelings about size. Great fit around chest, too baggy on belly part. In offline shop I would have taken XL maybe. When deciding about XL and XXL before ordering I considered these main factors:
- saw recommendation on forums to size down from IH. (My IH jackets shirts are XXXL).
- thought 24oz material is too thick, hence no problem with measurments for XXL.
-
I'm also mixed on the fit. I got a medium (usually take a large on IH UHF), and it fits great over a shirt or thermal. It's a wee tight over a sweater or UHF, mostly in the shoulders. So, I placed an order for a size large. We'll see how that one fits. I'm concerned that the sleeves might be a bit long.
I ordered a medium based on the Kuroki denim jacket that I bought from them. The difference is that I wear that Kuroki jacket over a T-shirt often. Wearing the Wills over a T is a different story, as it definitely feels like a layering piece.
I might end up keeping both. One for layering and one for not. Will decide once the large arrives.

Has anyone here ordered the brown wills?? Looks like it’s gonna be Ace!

Does 24OZ on the fabric sound right?
Yes, it's 24oz for sure. 18 before waxing. It's quite thick.
@hm1944 I currently wear an XXL Long. I used to have an XL Long but sold it because it was too tight in the shoulders and not really comfortable to wear. It takes a while for the fabric to settle and drape so maybe just wear it for a while?

Thank you Palmer. I think in my head I expected maybe more body fit like it is with IH Type III jackets, but this type of jacket has another philosophy (working chore jacket). I am just thinking loud and yes this jacket is very well built and robust. Will start wearing and see how it developes.

Some people are able to get away with sizing down and having a type 3 rock 'n' roll fit (Dean Del Ray) but if you have a broad chest and shoulders I say just embrace the chore coat fit! You can look back in this thread to see my smaller sized fits but eventually I came to a sad realization that a size down was just too small for me. I'm so thankful to have been able to get a larger size with the new ordering system.
Here's me in my XXL Long about a month ago.
