IH-526PJ - 21oz Selvedge Denim Modified Type III Jacket - Indigo

[Screeching eagle sound] The eagle has landed… finally.
First thing that came to my mind was: how did I manage to live without the extra internal pockets? They are brilliant, so is the whole jacket.Agreed! The best part of the handwarmers is the dual purpose they serve as inside pockets. Can't wear a type III without them now.

Congrats @Dion I was looking at this myself today, it's a beauty.
The endless hand warmer pocket debate now seems settled as barely any traditional type III's from IH are extant anymore. I own one traditional now, and two with pockets. I still prefer the traditional versions although the pockets are not a dealbreaker and I actually find the internal pockets way more useful and interesting than the hand warmer's

Cheers, gentlemen! Yes, I was surprised how roomy and useful the internal pockets are, they are definitely a nice addition. It's a good feeling when your stuff is protected by bulletproof 21 oz. I don't plan to use the outer pockets (handwarmers), though, so they don't become sloppy and ruin the sleek look of the jacket.

Has anyone purchased a recent version of this in either size L or XL that can speak to the chest measurement and fit, as well as your vitals? I have store credit with Self Edge that I would like to put towards a modified Type III 21oz, but all of their measurements for this jacket are different from those listed by IH (this always seems to be the case with SE).

Yeah, these things are all hand made so they're all going to vary slightly.
I bought my L from IHUK earlier this year, January, I think. Here are my measurements from the IHUK team:
Shoulders - 18.5"
Length - 25.3"
Chest - 21.8"
Waist - 19.8"
Opening - 20.0"
Sleeve - 26.1"That's one of my favorite things about the IHUK experience, the crazy accurate per item measurements.
You can ask the SE team to measure the parts you're concerned about, though.

Self Edge also uses a different system for measuring jeans, so those are always going to be off from IH. Jackets should be closer, but I've learned to never trust their numbers on anything.

Yes, SE measure differently, also with jackets. The best way to mitigate the issue is to learn to measure the IH way, use that on your reference garments at home, then refer to the tables on the IH website, even if you’re buying from SE (or any other store).

I ended up reaching out to Rivet and Hide, and they had one size large left that was just a smidge over 22" in the chest, right on the money for what I'm seeking in my next type III (A jacket I can wear over sweatshirts and flannels…my olive whipcord type III fits wonderful, but it is more tailored through the body).
The sleeves are a smidge longer than what I am used to at 26.5" long, but I imagine the creasing on a 21oz type III will bring them in a bit over time.
I have to give a shout out to Rivet and Hide for their great service, right up there with the Iron Heart crew!

Just picked this up a week ago from Self Edge in Los Angeles. Sized my typical western shirt size. It's quite fitted, but not too tight. Hopefully there will be a little more give as it wears in.
