IH-888S-21od - 21oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - OD'd
-
I am loving these 888's!! I dig the higher rise. The 21oz OD is awesome so far. The cut is spot on for my style and liking. I've been a bit curious about the washing regimen on the OD. I read earlier in this post about the OD benefiting a bit more from a regular wash. I believe it was @neph93 that felt it suited this denim in particular. Just sort of curious if others take a slightly different approach with the OD or just beat it to hell and minimal washing like most any other IH denim??

This is my approach. I will say that they get softer and softer the more you wash, more than other IHs I've owned. A nice perk, but I don't go out of my way to wash them more than any others.

With od you don't have to worry about shrinkage at all. The OD process takes all the shrinkage out of the denim. As far as wash frequency? Wash them when dirty and dont worry about it. Great pair of jeans by the way

I’ve washed mine more than most other denim I own. That wasn’t a plan, more of a consequence of the speed at which I find they pick up dirt.
Tbh I never start wearing a pair with plan in place, other than wash when dirty/smelly. Some go a while and get worn hard, others get washed more often. They all fade in the end.

Drop a mail to shop@ironheart.co.uk. That's what the guys at the end of that particular line are for….

When these were described as “super slim cut” I totally ignored them.
My only prior experience with IH has been with the 1955S,of which I invested in five pairs.
It was sheer luck that I wanted some OD jeans that I did a comparison with the 1955/888’s and discovered just hot close they are,and made the gamble on a pair a little less risky.
I was able to snatch a pair of almost new for a bargain price and am pleasantly surprised..
Let that be a lesson..don’t dismiss them without a second look.Or equally the 1955s ! -
I think the very first post in this thread describes them as such.

@Anodsasgoodasawink amended, thanks!

My favourite fit because it fits. Most other cuts are too big in the waist & I prefer the higher rise of these. Having said that, is there a chance we'll see a 888 style cut with a slightly (1-2cm) wider hem? Getting tapered jeans on and off in a hurry at the pool or surf is a pain (obviously not everyone's problem). My 634's are close but the thighs are snug.

Anyone here have experience with the 21 oz 777 vs 888 OD sizing? I have the 777 21s in a 32 and I am thinking to go with the 31 in the 888 OD. The 777s fit great, the waist stretched a fair amount which is fine as I like to wear a belt. I feel myself pulling them up from the back a lot. I wanna try the IH w the higher rise. I have other jeans w a higher rise and seem to be able to pull off a slightly smaller waist in those. I want to get the waist right cus I am not a huge fan of jeans sagging in the butt. Any thoughts are appreciated!

Since the top block runs ‘bigger’ then the 777 some peeps size down but make sure the waist will fit you from the start. Also in my opinion the more pressure is on certain areas the more they will stretch. For example most of the times i have to size up in 888 compared to 555 or 777 to make the waist fit cause in some version the waist runs a little smaller in the 888.

20 wears and after 2nd wash knee Fades are nicely starting along with crotch fades.This material is absolutely stunning. May try ib next but it Fades almost too fast. XHS may be. Or both…
