If it helps @grzzi, almost all my Iron Heart shirts are XL and I wear a L in the 27 jacket. I can layer a t-shirt and ultra heavy flannel underneath the jacket. It is a trim fit but it works. I would not be able to wear a hoody sweatshirt underneath.

good fit, do you wear IR shirts in L or M ?
@Cole isn’t around so much anymore, but wears L mostly, sometimes XL.
But he reacts to being tagged. I only wore L in shirts very rarely. More XL and XXL (damn you corona pounds).
But my M65 and the 2 deckjackets are all size L and still fit (the deckjackets a bit tighter then a year ago).

Excellent mate. Only polite to tag you when I talk about you. And I felt like you were more XL but didn’t want assume too much [emoji1]
As for corona kilos, tell me about it… still fit into your Mando costume though?

Thank you guys for help.

Let's say it's a wee bit tight at the moment. But I got until april to get lost uf at least 5 kg to not look like Mando the Hutt on the next event. ::)

does anyone have this one and the olive IHM-33? (or compared them) i really can't decide between the two, so other than the extra waterproofing/colour difference, is one more preferable than the other (obviously its down to personal choice) but just wanted any first hand experience/input - cheers!

The other difference is the exterior pockets. On the IHM-27 you have the original articulated pouch pockets. On the IHM-33 they are flush to the face of the jacket. So the 27 is more authentic military, and more rugged in its aesthetic, but the 33 is sleeker and cleaner.

Hi all!
I've been loving my IHM-27 since I got it in October, as I wanted to substitute my old vintage Alpha Industries M65 with something a little more up to modern standards.
One thing I've been missing on my Iron Heart is the visible zipper in the collar. I'm thinking of altering mine at the tailors and removing the thin fabric strip that hides the zipper. Should be an easy job. Did anybody else do something like this?

. Did anybody else do something like this?
Not that I’ve ever heard. I’m struggling to see why you’d want to?

My idea was to get the same aesthetic as the original m65 with the exposed zippers

Ah, I understand.
Haraki-san tends to modernise original designs. It is hard to know exactly why, but often the updates add functionality or have an application or a benefit to the motorcycle rider. Alternatively they could be to create an aesthetic he prefers.
The sum result differentiates IH from the repro brands like RMC and to a degree Alpha Ind. Nothing to stop the owner making changes though. I’d be interested to see how it goes.

I had a tailor take off the piece of fabric hiding the zipper. I got to keep the fabric piece that was taken out, so it's 100 % reversible, if I ever regret my decision. Personally, I really like that the zipper is exposed, just like the old M65 jackets. It's a bit more rugged, military aesthetic I guess. Haven't used my 80's Alpha Industries M65 since I got this one.
It's an awesome jacket.
