IHSH-218-BLK - 12oz Selvedge Denim Western Shirt "The Johnny Cash III" - Superblack

…even if you lack a personality, you could where it to the pub and the birds will just land on your arm, it's that cool!
...so happy.

I am little confused with Johnny Cash III measurements now. I bought one last year from Statement Store as XXXL, it fits good. So this shirt is for me as reference shirt for Western cut. I am now preparing to get new western shirt and noticed in comparing function that Johnny Cash III measurments are all „shifted“ to more big size….smth like old XXXL measurments are now XXL.

@hm1944, this happens more often with IH clothes when a restock arrives. The trick is to take the measurements of a well fitting shirt or pair of jeans as your benchmark, not the size tag.

Sizing varies between runs and/or fabrics for multiple reasons. If any brand says that all their XL shirt measure identically, they're bullshitting. A woven length of fabric can have different shrink/stretch characteristics form one end to the other because of the varying levels of humidity in the mill whilst the fabric is being woven.
This is why we do not have one sizing table for all our tops, or bottoms. Each product has its own sizing table.
The actual measurements of the shirt you have is the reference size for you, not the tag size.
For example, the IHSH-260-PPL being released next week is sizing smaller than most of our other shirts, it is likely that people will need to size up.
it would be a whole lot easier if everything measured consistently, but that just isn't the case I am afraid.

Thanks for responses. Yeah, this is exactly what I am doing, measuring and comparing, otherwise I would not have noticed this. Being away in tropics away from home some months my reference shirt is at home. Its earlier run Johnny Cash III XXXL with measured PtP 62cm (had to took out my notes to check it). So I remembered that Johnny Cash III XXXL is good for me, so I took this shirt to compare table in webshop. There I noticed the size shift and hence the question above. Everything is cool!

…the 'Johnny Cash 3' got me to break out the Stetson! But I'm more of a 'flat cap', 'Donegal' guy to be honest.
...even had a 'bartendress' at the pub on Sunday, reach across the bar and give the material a little feel completely unprompted! Put a smile upon my face.
...so happy.

Stetson look epic with the shirt!

… honest injun Giles! I must have been wearing it loudly proudly.

Scally looks right @vaquero357
What's the story with the picture over your right shoulder?

Has anybody given this a proper hot wash? Curious to see how much it'd shrink (XL).
Weirdly I've trimmed up quite a bit working from home (able to exercise more, been eating like 95% vegan, no longer around a bunch of bad sweets at work), but several of my IH shirts are a bit baggier on me now.
I dunno, my days of tight fitting clothes are over — I do like a little more room to breathe now — but I could easily lose an inch off of the P2P on this.

I had a medium that was slightly too big for me, namely in the chest and length.
I washed at 60c on 400rpm. I (annoyingly) did not take pre and post dims but I got what I needed in terms of loss in the chest ~0.5"
Your mileage may vary in terms of winding up a higher temp or spin!

Cool, thank you! You think a hot soak in the tub would give me less? Would be awesome if so — I feel like I have more control over a soak. Hey, only one way to find out, I guess…

Cool, thanks so much, man! I think the main reason I like to tub soak or wash is that I've ended up with quite a few of the aforementioned weird marks when I use the washer. I think it's just because it tumbles stuff around and a lot of times fabric will get crumpled up in weird ways and can cause a bit of odd looking color loss (I know this is probably a little different than the white marks you were talking about, but nonetheless a similar concern). Plus my washer SUCKS. Don't think I'll be taking Consumer Reports' advice again
The amount of shrinkage you got sounds good, though. I'm gonna try for a hot soak soon and see what I get. I'll try to remember to measure before and after.
