Bought my pair in March 2021. First pics are from a month in. The rest of the pics are from today. Zero washes. Zero soaks. Mostly weekend wear. I don't wear them in the summer months. I remember it being extremely difficult to get them buttoned up the first time I put them on, and they were painfully stiff, but I also remember being shocked how quickly they softened up. This is my only pair of Iron Heart denim pants. I have two pairs of Naked and Famous, one 12.5oz and one 19oz. The Iron Hearts are my favorite by far.

beautiful fades sir! The 25oz is an amazing denim.
-
@chadstone30 those fades look killer dude. XHSib is the best for sharp, high contrast fades.
-
Thanks all. I'm proud of them.
Honestly, I was disappointed in the pictures and almost didn't post them. In person this fabric has so much sheen, dimension, and depth. None of that comes across in the photos.
-
@chadstone30 Yeah totally get it man. It's like taking a pic of a sunset, hard to do it justice.

Alright, I need some help here. I’ve never owned IH jeans before and am utterly confused by the washing instructions. I’ve been wearing these for about a week, the waist was certainly tight but it’s starting to stretch out now. I haven’t soaked or washed these at all and wasn’t planning on it. Today I received an order from IH and my partner noticed the washing instructions booklet, apparently you are supposed to soak these before wearing? I remember reading in the online washing instructions that soaking is optional and not required for 25oz. I’m so confused.
I’ve read about how on the UHR you need to soak them so the stitching sets, is that the case here? Help!

@nrtphotos I soak all of my jeans inside out in the bathtub or laundry sink pre wash. After the jeans have been thoroughly soaked, I then place them in a washing machine to clean.
By doing this you minimize the chance of creating marbling or streaks on your jeans.
It's a best approach method that most of us use.

These are brand spanking new, worn less than a week so they definitely don’t need a wash. I’m more concerned about the stitching setting in and longevity. The booklet wording made it sound like you absolutely should, where the online post about washing said a soak was optional. That’s what I’m confused about.

Alright, I need some help here.
The die is cast. Carry on. I didn't soak mine and I have no regrets.
-
@nrtphotos You are talking about two different denims and two different ways that they need to be treated.
The UHR needs to be pre-soaked and washed in order to set the stitching to prolong the longevity…
The XHS only needs to be pre-soaked prior to wash in order to prevent marbling. I often have taken my XHS from the bag and worn them until dirty. When it comes time to clean, the best way to prevent marbling and/or streaking is to pre soak inside out and then wash as normal.

Some strong cases here for not cuffing. Thinking about hemming my SBG now. Hmm…

The first days/steps in this denim! First time in a 888 and dig the relaxed overall fit!

@68degreesorless those look amazing! Too warm to wear mine but looking to give em a beating in the fall/winter
-
Thanks @atm23! They will accept your beating and grant you softness and beauty in return

Well done @68degreesorless and agreed with @atm23, they're looking awesome! Still trying to squeeze out some wears on my pair as California warms up.
