@goosehd wow what a yard. Party here

Here is a picture of my wife’s family cottage which stood here before we built our house. In 2012 I tore down most of it by hand and placed it into bins to be taken to the local garbage dump. We rescued as much of it as we could and have incorporated some of the items into our new home. For example, we took one of the old windows and turned it into a mirror and saved one of the doors from the cottage to use as the door to our bedroom:

Sure you guys are all invited, but please don’t tell my wife…I have to strategize how to slip this one into a conversation.
Thank all of you for the compliments as it’s a place that I/we truly love. Laura and I spent our honeymoon here, many summers swimming on hot, muggy days after working in the strawberry fields, picking sweet corn for the market, and everything else under the sun. It’s only about 15-20 minutes from her parent’s home and we used to run down here all of the time in the summer to relax.
It was hard to tear down the old cottage as it had been in her family for close to 100 years, but it was past it’s prime and in need of serious repairs that no one wanted to put money into. It was co owned by her dad and uncle, which has its own story on how we acquired the uncle’s half. Her dad gifted us his side as he knew how much it meant to us.
