I love the new blanket. Which jacket will be warmer? The lined Type 3 or the SR? I’m leaning toward the former.

I can't speak for the Iron Heart version, but in general a sherpa lined jacket will be warmer than a blanket lined one. I think the Storm Rider gets more use where I live (Oregon), but I have a sherpa lined type 3 for really cold days. I can't wait for the 526SL and I'll definitely be picking one up so long as the measurements work out.

Wore mine today. More than kept the London rain out.

Rolling the dice on a large, here’s to hoping it fits!

Logging on here after years away to say that if you're on the fence about this jacket, just buy it.
I love love love my Storm Rider. As in, wear it every day kind of love.
Is it warm? I use it in temps as low at -5c.
Just buy the damn thing. It's perfect.
(and yes, I grew up in the original Lee version. This is better)

@Anesthetist see OG post for measurement chart, difference was so minimal no changes required
Sleeves are pretty long- I had mine shortened by Mr. Moore at Science and Kindness. Perfect now.

Any opinions, I think it looks a hair bulky? It’s a LITTLE snug in the shoulder but doable over an UHF. Pardon the scrubs I was too excited to try this one on.
-
I think it looks great, man. Are you gonna get the sherpa type III too? What a season!

Shoot I doubt it but it was going to be my backup plan if this didn’t come through for me. Who knows though, if it is still around come January I might [emoji23]

if you size down I think it will be too small. Size up- :-\ what size did you go with?
Anyway I think you nailed it looks great -

Anyway I think you nailed it looks greatIt’s a large, I def couldnt go to a medium and an XL would be huge. Just debating if I should trade it in for the sherpa type III.

I originally tried the SR in a medium, and while the lengths in it may have worked I found the chest and shoulder too tight and it restricted movement a bit, was near impossible to button over anything but a t-shirt. I ended up with a large, and while it fits a tick roomy I really wanted to be able to wear it over some layers. The sleeves of this jacket are definitely on the longer side. I think the fit looks spot on @Anesthetist
Pic from when I first got mine, I even did up the bottom button which makes it look a little more trim than it is. The shoulders have loosened up with wear, I still think the medium never would have relaxed to where it felt comfortable.

@Anesthetist @Joberwocky Looks good, fellas. The sleeves really ride up with wear, and the whole thing softens and drapes nicely too.

Thank you @Richard @Joberwocky , @steelworker , @Fadez @ tobisieh @sabergirl for the reassurance and advice! I tried the jacket on again today with jeans and a flannel and I feel much more confident about my decision. I think what makes it look a little wider on me is just that the denim is still stiff and the lining is making it poof out sideways. I'm thinking with wear and abuse it will settle down and drape much more naturally. I have to say, it is a surprisingly warm jacket! Just with trying it on over an UHF I started getting hot ???
@sabergirl I talked to my wife extensively about which jacket to choose (she is so very patient) and she told me just to order the Sherpa too. I'm not sure I will but it's an extremely nice and tempting offer.
