Luggage Bags and Packs

think it’s called rip stop backpack.. perfect dad bag for days out with the kiddos…

@mclaincausey I can't think of any leather totes that convert into backpacks.
Cote & Ciel did the Moser in black leather, but it seems to be sold out in most places. It's a circular backpack whose straps can be stowed or detached to use as a tote. Havn have one in Melbourne, though I suspect it would be cheaper to source in the US.

Hardgraft do the 2Unfold, which can be converted between a tote and backpack and various other styles of carry. I had one a while back, and they're really a laptop sleeve more than anything else.

Kika NY have a few packs that look a bit like a tote but aren't a tote. The Road Tripper is currently on sale.

Frank Clegg offers the English Backpack.

If you want to go bespoke, there's Mathias Steinhauser in Germany....

Graeme always delivers. Thank you some good options here.

She got the Portland plus a laptop sleeve for under $200 on a President’s Day sale. She wouldn’t let me spoil her with a fancy option but I think this will be great. Thanks for the assists folks.

Carryology are doing a collaboration with GORUCK that's made from a custom 15 oz Sashiko denim.
There's a write-up of the project at Carryology, and it's worth a read because it is completely insane in a good way.
The bags go live at 2 pm Eastern Time on Thursday.

Not leather but Bellroy do the following which looks nice
I bought my Mrs a leather Tumi backpack which she really liked and used for years. Pretty sure it had a laptop sleeve. Might be worth checking to see if they do a 2 way tote.

@goosehd I could not see it on design article I read the other day.
On the basis the last Carryology x GR1 (Kaidan - X-Pac) I bought was circa $350 incl shipping and their collaborations seem to be getting more expensive (sure the revolting Trakke one was £400 to £500), I am anticipating that this one will be at least $450 for the GR1. It looks very nice and I am sorely tempted, but I will likely tap out if too expensive!
-
Shame. I was genuinely excited by it, then it got to the bit in the article about the patch being made by a samurai armourer and I was like (a) Whilst cool, I could live without it and it will go straight in a box, rendering it pointless: and (b) that will massively fuck the price!
-
Gonna be upwards of $700 right?
Sounds cool but sounds really heavy too.
-
Really cool collab and details. Sounds $$$. I was guessing higher than 700$ @mclaincausey No more functionality than a regular gr1 and arguably less durable? Is there a secondary market?
Description was a fun read. -
Yeah they seem to be setting the stage for eye watering pricing in the copy. I think you’re right the sky is the limit on the price.
