IH-666-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Slim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
-
Hi all!
I'm looking at getting some IH denim, and I'm torn between either the 666-XHS or the Beatle Buster. I've been looking at the measurements but I'm finding it really hard to visualise what they would look like. My only existing pair of jeans is a pair of APC New Standard (size 28) – does anybody have any idea which IH denim would fit similarly?

Hey yall i need some input…i only wore these IH-666-XHS for a month and i wore them hard everyday.. tonight i flipped up my cuff and saw this...can anyone tell me if this is something i should worry about? or is it something minor where i shouldn't think about it and just wear the hell out of it? Dont know what to do only owned this pair for a little over a month now..not too sure if anyone had this same issue..if you did what is the best solution in your opinion...thank you!!!

Measurements for the 35" are available now.

My 5.5months old pair are on their way back from SENY. Full crotch rebuild (3 holes), plus a fix on both hems, as they tend to wear away on the tops of my sneakers.

I'm gonna wait for a re-patch….please let me know when sorted

Compare the measurements - I don't know anything about APCs. Between the two Devils are generally lower rise and slimmer through the thigh than BBs.
Ok right – but can I expect them to stretch much in the waist? Before I was advised to get two sizes below the size I usually get, and they ended up fitting perfectly. Should I expect much stretching here? I'm slightly confused why the named size different from the actual waist measurement? Ideally I'd prefer to get a smaller waist size if possible so they would be narrower in the leg.

You won't get much stretch in the waist. Maybe a bit more than an inch. Measure jeans whose fit you like (e.g., your APCs) and compare them to the sizing tables.

My personal rule of thumb on IH's sanforized denim is what little shrinkage you get from a soak/wash, you will get pretty close to that back in stretch after a few wears - except for the length of course. So I look at and follow the IH measurements and that has worked well for me. I have 4 IH cuts in different denims and have gone TTS (same tag size) on all. Usually it is pretty obvious which size is the best choice. On the 18oz raw denim I'd say there is a little more "art" involved, but the sanforized is pretty straightforward unless you are just right between sizes. Of course if you size way down, and put a lot of stress on the waist, you could get more stretch I'm sure. Some people might want to size down to get the look they seek but I have not had to do that.

Thanks for that – really helpful. I'm not a great fan of turnups -- I was planning on getting them hemmed to 34", the same as my existing pair. Does that sound like a good idea? I didn't realise they got shorter after being washed/soaked...
Also, RP, that looks to me an excellent fit post-soak. Didn't realise it made such a difference what with the sanforization and all that stuff. Really hope mine end up looking similar!

You could lose ~1" max in length (on sanforized) after wash - plus they may shorten up a bit more due to combs. I never hem mine, but I'd be a nervous wreck trying to decide if I did. TOO LONG IS BETTER THAN TOO SHORT. Suggest you go conservative, maybe 34.5". Maybe some other guys that hem will weigh in.
