IHSH-235-OLV - 13oz Military Serge Western Shirt - Olive

So where did that come from? I’m pretty sure it was sold out in all sizes! But the other day I was browsing the IH shirt section and a single piece Large was available. Order placed and boom. This could easily be one of my favorite shirts.
What a great Friday.

I'm looking for some help. I accidentally spill some oil over this beautiful shirt and it has now a dark patch of green around the stomach area. Is there any advice that would help me even out this dark patch of oil? I would be thankful to your help.

. That’s probably my worst, clothing, nightmare. I would try pre treating it with something like shout,or possibly the OXY stuff they were recommending to Fadez. Maybe wash it by hand in cold water with Woolite dark. You may have to do it a few times. Good luck!

@the246guy I would try ox gall soap. I use that for greasy collars too. Miracle stuff.

@Lowlander Could you please post a link to the product? I just found something at the local supermarket which says that it is capable of taking oil stains out. Fingers crossed.

This is the product I use, but I think it's Dutch. https://www.dr-beckmann.nl/onze-producten/detail/prewash-spray/
But you're in Germany, right? I'm sure something similar must be available there.

I kind of purchased the same, but the soap version of it. I just tried it on the spot where the oil spill happened. It is wet now. Will post here the updates as soon as it dries up. Fingers crossed.

Good luck! Though be careful with it. I think it's quite aggressive stuff. My bottle says you should not let it dry on the stain but wash it out 10 minutes or so after applying.

I will post some pictures as soon as it is dried. I guess the stain has not completely vanished. May be I might treat it again with the gall soap. The biggest mistake that I did was after the oil spill, I was just lazy and just left the shirt next to the washing machine for weeks together. It was only yesterday did I throw it into the washing machine only to realize that the oil has nicely soaked into the fabric deep enough. Lesson learnt, not to be lazy anymore.

Here is a snap of where the stain stands after my first attempt to get rid of it.
Do you guys see the dark patch next to the middle button in the attached image?

@Jett129 I'm not a vest kind of guy, but I like the idea. I work in an office setting and I can already say that wearing IH gear for office, I'm the odd man out. If I add another vest over my shirt, I'm in a different world while at work.
I trust that if I treat my shirt, the stain with another round of the gall soap, it should make it disappear.

Yea I see it. Fortunately the fabric creaste a bit of textured shading naturally. Kinda hides stains.
I think so too! The shirt is definitely not a lost case. Beautiful evo too.
