IHSH-260-PPL - Ultra Heavy Flannel Tartan Check Western Shirt - Purple Rain
-
My first IH shirt and I was so nervous about the sizing. The shoulder size in particular. But I did all the measurements I could and figured I’d go with blind faith that the L in the Purple Rain would work for me. Well, the shirt arrived yesterday and I could not have been more pleased. I feel like it’s a custom fit. The quality, the thickness, and the softness and all that detail. This is a stunning shirt. And did I mention the fit? I feel like I really got lucky with my first (and definitely not last) purchase! What do y’all think?

I love it….Welcome.....
And if you need to compare the sizing of that shirt, with any other, you can use the compare function.....

Or you can just drop a note to the boys at shop@ironheart.co.uk, if you need specifics - like "largest shoulder in an L etc etc

@dj:
She keeps complaining IH should make women’s garments.
I have some bad news for you. They do. By no means every shirt, possibly only 10-20%, comes in a Ladies S and M. @Giles stocks only a very few, however it is sometimes possible to get others over from Japan.
Yep. The wife's wearing some IH stuff regulary… she likes the UHF a lot, wears a 33 in S and has some hoodies, T's, too. Ordered the Purple Rain in S for her and she should receive a pair of white overalls soon
Reassured this isn’t only happening in our household, as fast as I find clothing for myself (Pendleton, Filson, IH) my wife then wants similar for herself.

Here is a selection of Ladies Sized items in Japan…
If there is something you want, or want to know if we can get in L-S or L-M, just drop us an email.
That's what @RoxRocks86 does, and we can normally sort her out….

Yep, I think you nailed it. And now that you have one that you like the fitting of, you're more set that ever for purchasing more in the future. I'm Brendan from the IH Underground Fb page. So jealous of your purple rain, such a great shirt and you look fantastic in that cut! Cheers

@DavidNC Nice fit. L didn’t work for me, marginally, but the IT team are exchanging it for an XL, which I’m hoping will do.
-
Thanks! It was kinda stressful placing my first order and not being certain how it would fit. The size charts were helpful and I measured several of my shirts here but I had nothing with quite the same chest and shoulder measurements. In the end I decided to go for it with a L. Future purchases will likely be a little easier after losing my IH virginity to Purple Rain.
Good luck with the XL!

Straight in there for the the XXL - pow!
-
I've been a consistent XL's in these UHF's for years but this one just seems a tad too tight across the chest. I'm worried that sizing up to a XXL will introduce the issue of sleeves that are way too long even with attempts to shrink them as the XL has sleeves that are already giving an inch or so of extra length. Uggh. Is it reasonable to expect a half-inch stretch across the chest in this XL? ….seems like this one simply isn't in the works for me otherwise.
-
Personally, I would not consider buying a UHF with the aim of hoping it would stretch…
Running a compare, the XXL in the IHSH-260-PPL is not too different from the XL in the IHSH-232-RED

These came up a little small. I too am (a small) XL in most things. I would have gotten away with an XL in this but would have been nervous because of shrinkage.
Otherwise, Giles is right. They will loosen but not stretch like denim does. In addition there is always the risk of shrinkage.
You can expect to loose half a size with a hot wash on the UHF’s. A hot washed XXL would end up like a more standard sized XL judging by the measurements.

Just landed - super excited to get this on!
usually an XL but ran with the XXL
