Ok...throwing this out there for a thought and want to see what you guys think. The music league was a lot of fun and focused on themes for each voting period. Not everyone participated and due to schedules/timing it was difficult for everyone to listen and stay involved.
One of my favourite activities on the forum for many years is a "Theme Week" where each day, we had a theme and all dressed according to the theme. I love music and it's one of the things that truly makes me happy, and I was wondering if we could combine elements of the two.
No voting, just submitting our favourite songs for each genre for the day's theme.
If there is enough interest we can do a "WAYLT - What are you listening to?" week that everyone can get involved with.
Give me your thoughts and possible themes and maybe we can put something together.
Caveat: "No Voting involved, no winners, no losers"...just pure, simple music that fits the theme

@Jett129 It’s the first time I’ve run across that clip, couldn’t believe how good they sounded, and immediately thought of you. Morrison was taken from us way too soon…
Edit: Yes, you had mentioned it awhile ago and I have one of those memories where I attach people with certain things. I can remember conversations and small details, but ask me to remember someone’s name and I will blank out.

@goosehd Bands played live on Ed Sullivan but not on American Bandstand. There was a whole big todo about Ed Sullivan asking/telling Morrison not to sing “Girl we couldn’t get much higher” Morrison assured him he wouldn’t and then did it anyway, which prompted the famous exchange where he was told you’ll never do the Ed Sullivan show again,to which he responded…I just did the Ed Sullivan show.

@Jett129 I’ve been going down the rabbit hole since you mentioned that…it seems like tv recording equipment couldn’t handle heavily amped performances and many of the so called live shows on tv were all prerecorded or sung to backing tracks.
I honestly didn’t know that lip syncing had been a thing for so long and learned something tonight.
Thank you.
