Yeah Matt,
it’ll be interesting to see the change in her appearance as she grows out of her puppy stage.

Re: sanforised jacket RRL
I picked up this Type 1 jacket a year or two ago from the RRL Soho store. It’s a nice Japanese raw denim, clearly labeled as being sanforised.MSRP. was $690.00.
My buying experience was mixed if I’m honest.
The jacket was the only one on display,a Medium size.with only the price tag present.
I asked the sales rep if it was sanforised,to which he replied “what do you mean”?
After further investigation someone else was able to confirm it was, however he wasn’t sure that the jacket was for sale as another employee was considering buying it !
I found this to be rude and unprofessional.
The employee confirmed that he was going to buy it,so I thought I was shit out of luck.
Further enquiries found another one in California, which they shipped to my home.
The fit was loose and boxy enough to accommodate a hooded sweatshirt underneath, but the arms were somewhat long.I was considering getting the sleeves shortened, but before I bit the bullet,I chose to give it a hot wash “just in case”
Well, would you believe it,it shrunk.Actually it shrunk about an inch in sleeve length, which was exactly what I wanted. However the rest of the jacket also shrunk relatively,to the point that it’s too tight to use a sweatshirt.
Otherwise with a tee shirt it’s ideal.
So just a word caution really, and a slight bad taste I was left with at RRL.

RE: IH-888S-21od - 21oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - OD'd
I think the very first post in this thread describes them as such.

RE: IH-888S-21od - 21oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - OD'd
When these were described as “super slim cut” I totally ignored them.
My only prior experience with IH has been with the 1955S,of which I invested in five pairs.
It was sheer luck that I wanted some OD jeans that I did a comparison with the 1955/888’s and discovered just hot close they are,and made the gamble on a pair a little less risky.
I was able to snatch a pair of almost new for a bargain price and am pleasantly surprised..
Let that be a lesson..don’t dismiss them without a second look.Or equally the 1955s ! -

RE: IRON CAST by Iron Heart International
Interesting Podcast.
Giles commenting on the Forum particularly intrigued me,as a place where likeminded people who like GOOD things can congregate(sorry I forget the exact wording).
It’s a question that remains unanswered for me,and I have put to many friends/designers/artists over the years.
What is GOOD taste?
I get the form+function of good design, but is good taste only what an individual finds personally tasteful and not embraced bye the masses? -
RE: Iron Heart Products - What do you think we should make?
Moleskin jeans in a 888 cut, using a substantial fabric that seems to be missing in the market.
R.M.Williams once did a decent pair of “Riders” in a heavy stiff Moleskin, but now only offer a lightweight cotton drill. -
RE: IH-106 - 21oz Denim Ladies Boot Cut Jeans - Indigo
These seem to be just about the right fit my Wife is looking for,but she wants a lighter weight, around 14 oz.As hard as I’ve tried to convince her she will not go for them. Can anyone suggest another brand that does a raw Ladies 100% cotton low rise bootcut ? Cheers.

RE: IHJ-71 - 18oz Selvedge Denim Type ll Jacket - Indigo
I’m looking around for a raw type 2,and this one ticks all the boxes, but the collar appears to be very small to me. :-\

RE: 1955S - 21oz Selvedge Denim "1955" Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
I have just initiated a re-run
That’s comforting to hear, and I hope proves to be a wise business decision.
I kept my eye on the outlet offering and never saw
these make it over there,so thought there was enough love for them.
I bought the last couple of 31” as insurance!
Thanks Giles. -
RE: Iron Heart Products - What do you think we should make?
No.I found the perfect fit for me in the 1955s
I was once loyal to Levi’s 501,and they messed with the fit.
Tried Replay,Lucky,Edwin etc etc.
I own five prs of 1955s and hope my weight is maintained.
At 60 years old I may have enough to see me through?
Like so many cherished things that drop bye the wayside,
I reluctantly accept the inevitability. -

RE: IH-1955-UHR - Ultra Heavy Raw 1955 Cut
I have had the 1955uhr,the 1955S and the Fulcount 1101.I am a 32 waist and found that sizing down to a 31 in the 1955S has provided me with the best fitting jeans I ever came across.Of course every single body is different, and how we like to wear our jeans will determine what we deem a great fit.the FC 1101 to me reminded me of the Edwin Nashville.slightly lower rise and tighter around the crotch. The 1955UHR I did not have for long and had to be returned due to a slight MFG problem, but also fit very slightly lower IMO than the1955S (even though they were a 32 ) possibly due to minor shrinkage.Denim wise all three are quite different animals.I would certainly go for a pr of 17oz In a 1955S cut and hope that they do come into production.
Others for your consideration could be:3 Sixteen CS 100X
Warehouse lot 1001XX
Real McCoys lot 002All are high front/back rise iirc? And a 50's cut

RE: 1955S - 21oz Selvedge Denim "1955" Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
Thanks to some exemplary Customer Service from Giles,Paula and the IH folks,I now am pleased to own my first 1955S Jeans.I sized down an inch from my standard 32" waist to a Size 31x32.
If I could find a pr of Gloves that fit as well as these, then I would buy them. Superb, and thanks to all ,once again.
( Yes,I know I should be finishing off my basement instead of surfing denim sites and pulling the Arcs off !)
