RE: IHM-10 - N1 Deck Jacket - 2015 Edition
See the black has disappeared. Good, I'm broke at the moment, avoids the inevitable will I /won't I anxiety and my IH peacoat serves me well. Next year though… next year...

RE: Help me find a shoe
Re Wesco, I did a preliminary search, found some on Rakuten and found some lovely shoes, the soles though… mmm, moonwalker shoes.

RE: Help me find a shoe
When I was at the IH party in the summer there were a ton of Wesco samples, one of which was a lace to toe oxford which was stunning, maybe @Giles can assist with some Wesco oxford make ups?
thank you sir, I will enquire

RE: Help me find a shoe
Just as an addendum, I know Tricker's many colab models should be my go to…
but standard brogue detail is just a bit too OTT for my tastes outside of formal shoes. A bit is fine just not the whole palava
many thanks

Help me find a shoe
Hello all,
With all the excellent boot options available, I still find it very difficult for me to find a really good shoe for my purposes. And despite a ridiculous amount of research over the years, nothing quite hits the bullseye for me. So I ask for help. I got a boat shoe - great. I got a quoddy moc - also great. But I need a casual shoe, that goes with IH's and the like.
Love these

All great, however there's a problem. The flipping soles. The zig zag ones I think are called shark soles? I have them on a pair of hiking boots and they are perfect on a pair of hiking boots
And I'm not a big fan of the white christy soles, dark coloured ones I can deal with maybe
From what I've read on the forum Dainte soles are not an option either, I live in a very green ie wet country so need a commando type sole I think. When running to catch a plane I literally flipped in the air on the street on a rainy day on leather soles, crashed flat on my back and could have done a lot of damage. I am also very hard wearing on the tips of either end of the soles, with the way I walk. Vibram works well. So maybe something kind of like this or chunkier is fine.
Yuketen, Viberg and the like I can stretch to cash wise , but custom jobs I cannot, esp as I live in Europe and the import taxes. Any suggestions please? This has been bugging me for a long time.
Many thanks Ciaran

RE: The Real McCoys
Anybody have experience of the shrinkage on the 906s? been on a few sites, but they all seem to be saying different things. Thanks in advance

RE: Alexander Leathers
I read the 'too short' comments before seeing the pics, and on first viewing I also thought it might be better a half inch longer, but after closer inspection, sides and back are perfect, maybe the front could be a touch longer, but that's being super critical, the style is cropped after all. Other than that , the rest of the fit from the pics anyway is excellent. A keeper for me. Definitely.

RE: SOCKS
@4c:
Beautiful socks ArnoldLayne! Somehow I have this lurking suspicion that you actually took these socks from some poor girls washing ling though. It’s not that they don’t look manly enough, but the handle…
I've taken worse… ' Moonshine , washing line, they nearly always suit me fine' ...
Hey if I choose to spend my time as a sock lovin ho, then where better to post my bounty? But yeah 25 quid is mad for a pair of socks.
jdl1279 : I hear you, but if you can convince the missus to buy a pair of the navajo's , it'll make you happier than a few pints down the pub, and last a hell of a lot longer. And if one of you is earning, you know, a bit of a treat now and then if you can manage it, is nearly always a good thing.
As suggested above go for a navajo pair in black, grey, dark blue etc, the colour works best in person than the others imo, and there must be stockists in the US too. If not I know that there are many forum members willing to proxy at cost (me included of course).

Fable + Folly
Just bought some Japanese Chup socks from the webshop Fable + Folly.
Third time buying from the shop in the last few months and the service is fantastic (up to IH standards); but the packaging is something else, beautifully thought out. There is a great selection of men's functional products , curios etc. I bought the missus a Highland 2000 hat last year and the quality for the price cannot be beaten especially as they are made in the UK!
I have no connection with the chap, but I think it's important to support small indies like this who are trying to do something a little different. I came across a few brands I had not seen before.

RE: The Real McCoys
jeez the power of social marketing, they have been on sale with extra discount for maybe 5 days with no action. I put a post up on IH and all 3 sizes gone within an hour or so. mad

RE: The Real McCoys
So the inseam shrank to 34"?
I have a pre and post shrink pair both 32", so I got the measuring tape out. Shrunk and stretched to tagged waist size, although the overall shape is neither baggy nor tight. The inseam shrunk about 1 inch to 33. No problem cuffing, but if you're sized over 33'' inseam then they are not suitable. According to the website all sizes have the same inseam so I presume you will get the same results. Hope this helps.

RE: The Real McCoys
sorry just to be clear re post above, the chinos shrunk and stretched to tagged size. I think it's how they are supposed to work, fine on me. Might be confusing to read shop disclaimer and my post re shrinkage. thx

RE: The Real McCoys
RMC heavyish chinos, for a ridiculous price…
Enter the discount code, "LastChance10", and receive an additional 10% off all sale items.
Sale ends at midnight on Sunday, August 19th.I have 2 pairs for a few years, shrink to tagged size after a few washes (although a lot in the leg mine are tagged 32 and have shrunk to 32 x 34) and wear in very well, all shiny and bulky when new but break in similar to denim. Last for years. This is less than half the price I paid and even substantially cheaper then Jpn retail so…
they have some other nice stuff on sale too.

RE: The Real McCoys
For anyone who has money to throw away there is quite a few new RMC items up on eBay including HH engineers listed for $2500- 3800 (way above the prices in 2nd or at BiG) up for sale. Lots if cool stuff but can't understand why the seller has them marked up SO much
methinks taking the piss tbh…
