Another for the UES Puca Pucara sweat. Gave up waiting for a non-print IH crewneck, and I am not disappointed. Will be grabbing another most likely. My sweatshirts must be heavy and must have a brushed inner for softness; and UES does not disappoint at all. Fantastic fit as well, generally like a IH sweats in medium and large (3) UES fits great.

RE: Samples - New Products We Are Working On
Wow, looks sick. Would love to see in a CPO without western yokes.
Are those pockets even? They look off. Ie. further from placket on one side vs. other. Or is that just photo angle

RE: IH-715 - Swedish Serge Camp Shorts
wouldn't that have been the fabric from the original ih-701's looks the same, and weight very similar.
bet the fabric from the ihsh-134 and ih-712 green and grey herringbone fabric would make pretty epic shorts

RE: IH-534 - 21oz Blanket Lined 21oz Selvedge Indigo Shooting Jacket
can't have it both ways finn
i really hope this re-run talk stops some day…takes away all the "magic" of the brand imo -.-
if you're late to the party, get your shit together and search for it. if you find one and can make it yours, you´re the happiest mf on earth and want to hug the whole world and get drunk at the same time. if you can´t find one, you´ll keep looking until you will find one. this, besides some other great facts, is what keeps me coming back to iron heart all the time, when looking for shirts or jackets.
if everything gets a re-run every year or every now and then, it´s nothing else as some kind of "mass production" and takes away all the "magic" one combines with the brand.so please stop asking for re-runs and search your fecking ass off if you want to grab/own a classic...please!

RE: Revisiting Old Classics - Should We/Shouldn't We?
good analogy BO. its rather funny my first IH shirt was a 49 and remember thinking, holy sh.t I'm spending this much $ on a shirt. I got it and was "wow". I guess that was worth it. I had yet to purchase a flannel as i still thought, "what, that much $ for a shirt, its just a flannel". i was fortunate to grab a used one from one of the original members and once again upon receiving was blown away. (it was a black 32) After that i was hooked. The fit was perfect and the overbuilt ruggedness works with my lifestyle. So really, i fell in love the brand, and slowly started to grab pieces that really appealed to me. I will admit as adam said I have been very fortunate in my hunts, but also in connecting with several people that helped me in my searches. So while i do have many pieces that are elusive, i have still parted with many pieces (just as elusive) because they do not "call" out to me. So its not just about the elusiveness of an item or having extinct items.
As I originally said, this is a great topic of discussion and one I am finding hard to articulate.

RE: Revisiting Old Classics - Should We/Shouldn't We?
and yes. i will admit i have loved the chase of old items. very rewarding finding some old gem. have made some super cool contacts over the years in NA and Japan because of this. But this is all subjective. A lot of my old gems have stories associated with them in the hunt and part of what makes certain items special to me.

RE: Revisiting Old Classics - Should We/Shouldn't We?
i base my interest on the pattern and product and if it appeals to me (i already know that the IH product is good and a cut that works for me). then on the availability of an item. i am not ashamed to admit that i like items that are harder to get (i.e. smaller production runs) and feel there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. i work hard for my $.
its not an interest on whether an item item will sell out or not. there have been many patterns i have purchased that went into the sale section and were not popular at all.

RE: Revisiting Old Classics - Should We/Shouldn't We?
thats like putting any picture of 2 IHSH beside one another with the same caption.
For me, its when talking about extinct and extant items. One of the hugest appeals to me for iron heart has always been this distinction they have had. For me personally , when i see extant on an item, its of little interest to me as i feel i can get it any time, on the new or second hand market for years to come. i have been very interested in items that have been under development but loose interest if i think it will be around a long time. i.e. extant
from when i got interested in IH at the start, there was always that distinction in place that when a flannel sold out and people asked if there would be more. the answer was always no more, will not re-run. it is extinct. that is a large reason why i love the flannels, as this product more than any has always had this distinction. thats part of that appeal to the flannels and i believe why they sell out so fast at times. its this limited number and feeling that people may miss out. if items are continually being released in the same color way why have an extinct distinction at all. i know personally if i thought the pattern would be released again in a few years i most likely would not purchase in the first place, however with the one time possibility of getting the flannel, I am much more likely to purchase.
but this is just my take. it would be nice to know if an item is truly going to be extinct or not, as that will hugely determine my interest in a piece or not.

RE: Revisiting Old Classics - Should We/Shouldn't We?
Well this is a very good topic and nice to see discussions on it.
I for one am NOT for rerunning classics. Its tough to put into words, but I know when I first got interested in IH and coming on the forum boards it was refreshing to see that the response used to always be; we will not rerun items (not going through old post for quotes) but that was always the response, and I must say I respected that (G and the brand). Made me super interested in the brand and want to hunt for the classics a bit more knowing that they were hard to get. I have been looking for a green 19 since i got into iron heart and my absolute grail piece. However, I would not like to see it rerun still. Once a pattern is done. Call it done. There are always going to be new patterns and colour combos coming up. By needlessly calling for reruns, people are limiting the creative potential that comes with the brand, and Hakari (look at some of the recent ihsh; 107, 87 that have become super popular). If people keep calling for reruns, that limits the possibility of other classics coming out. When you just make the same sh.t over and over it looses its appeal. To me it seems like buffalo plaids have been done to death. Don’t do the same to other patterns. Other colour variants of the classics is a much better option i feel. Its the same as the blue 20 and purple 12; there was always a clamouring for these shirts to be rerun and the answer used to be no. I can see how there would be rerun and am happy for the people that didn’t get them to have the opportunity to do so again, however what i don’t understand why you don’t do a variant to tick several boxes while not completely copying old designs. For example, people call for the viyella check and cookie monster. Why not combine the great color of the cookie monster blue with another patter. Would still be very similar but different. But times change and company views change. I will probably edit this post at some or add further. -
RE: 2016 Edition - Iron Heart WAYWT
A seldom seen classic.
and please; no talk of remaking this one. (keep a pattern extinct when its done)

RE: IH-714 - Ultra Heavy Selvedge Serge Cargo Pants
i wouldn't go down, but as always a personal preference. I did on the first round (ih 705) and always regretted it. While they stretch a bit, they also shrink a bit with wash. I was a 30 in the 705 and measurements just about the same this round. would have done a 31, but alas no black 31's left. Even considering a 32 as I tried a 33 in 705 and was almost able to make them work

RE: Heroes (Buying/ Selling/Trading)
long overdue; but shout outs to the following. @Trickhell for flawless size trade on an 87, and several purchases. @thomasnunnally for an easy transaction for a vest. @browniemcghee for another easy transaction and great guy to deal with. and finally @Friday for responding to a PM to purchase an item i had always regretted not picking up. Thanks all.

RE: Freewheelers and Co.
Saw that also. Not very good looking as much as I like camo. Blue 38 purchased and on the way. Hopefully sizing works out.

RE: Freewheelers and Co.
thanks so much for all the info Chiba. All super helpful and informative. Will be hunting one at some point. The green is certainly what i would prefer but won't turn my nose down at a blue with alpaca

RE: Freewheelers and Co.
