I use these pattern hooks that I got locally from Imogene + Willie here in Nashville. I've tried to source different ones or even make my own, but for $3 a piece they are hard to beat.

RE: BROTHERHOOD OF BIB
@T4920 said in BROTHERHOOD OF BIB:
Still holding about for a Hickory bib re-release, or a lucky find on the secondary market..
I'd 100% arrive in Hamburg head to toe in that fabric
Oh yea?

RE: What's your IH secret pleasure that nobody knows??
I have a lot, but the ones that jump out first are:
This UHF I have where the lines match up perfectly on the back collar, yoke, and back panel:
How the panels on all IH shirts are always perfectly mirrored. Most notably on UHF pockets:
And how the lines are pattern matched perfectly on seams:

RE: The (Less intimidating) Watch Thread
My Grandfather was a pilot and a navigator in the Navy and Air Forces during WWII. The plane he was on went down somewhere over the Philippines in 1945, and he floated in the ocean for a few days before being rescued. Somewhere over the years, the Type A-11 that he wore (and was wearing at that time) found it's way into my hands. It wasn't working, and is rusted out in areas (obvs) but has always meant a lot to me. I finally found another one from the same maker (Elgin) and the same year (1944) and decided to pick it up. It is also in perfect working order and has a period-correct olive watch band on it! Beyond stoked to be wearing this piece and think of Grandpop every time I put it on!
Here's his original watch, which I have on a shelf on our family gallery wall:
And here is the one I just picked up:

RE: Parenting
If you just need some time alone, tell your kids that you're in time out and you'll be back in 10 minutes.

RE: Random Announcements
Local denim makers here in Nashville, Imogene + Willie, hosted a Pinewood Derby race in their backyard on Thursday night. I entered on a whim and won first place.
Also, when naming and painting my car, I learned that there were different spelling of Selvage and Selvedge depending on the country. The more you know!

Well, someone will spend those dollars and get the bug, then they'll eventually find their way here to the real thing.

@endo was out for lunch with a buddy the day he died, and he was talking about how great eraserhead was. I watched it that night and thought, wow this is the worst movie I have ever seen.

RE: Luggage Bags and Packs
Love hero clips! I have a medium and a large one on two different bags. I usually buy at least one every Christmas for someone on the list.

RE: All Things Mac/ Apple
My needs these days are definitely just browsing/responding to email/zoom calls. I love the idea of a desktop, I even have an iMac floating around the office, but I like the flexibility of being mobile if needed.
Eventually I’ll pick up a couple year old MacBook Pro or something. Just not a priority at this moment.

I just discovered today that I can connect my magic mouse and magic keyboard to my ipad pro. I'm wondering if I even need to buy a new macbook now!

RE: + TEA. THAT'S IT: TEA. THE END. +
This wasn’t already a thread?
My wife stopped drinking coffee and started drinking tea maybe 3 years ago. I gave up coffee about exactly a year ago. There’s a local tea maker in Nashville called High Garden Tea, and we have a few favorites from there depending on the season.
My daily go-to these days is Yerba Mate. I’ll have to check the brand I use when I get home. We buy bulk sized bags.

I just bought a Beams zip up sweater vest today at a secondhand shop for $18. Thought I had seen the name on this forum before, and did a search!

RE: Music
Was having this conversation with a buddy yesterday about bands or genres that are accepted in certain regions, but made fun of in others.
The example I'll give is the band Sublime.
I grew up on the beaches of FL, near St. Petersburg. When I was in middle school and high school, Sublime was loved by almost everyone. Making a beach playlist? Put it on. Want a slow jam to throw on at a party? Do it. Want a solid album to bump while driving down the beach with the windows down? Done.
When I moved to Nashville a little over 10 years ago, most people seem to not take them seriously. Make fun of them. Make fun of people that like them. Etc. Almost in the same way that I make fun of bands like Nickelback or Creed.
Is there a band or genre you grew up loving in your hometown area that seems to be a joke everywhere else?

Speaking of Kid A, check out the cover of Kid A by Punch Brothers if you’ve never heard it.
Mandolin, violin, upright bass, banjo, acoustic guitar

RE: Unpopular opinions
I enjoyed Breaking Bad, but never watched any of those other shows. Not because I didn't like them, but just because I don't have the time or desire to start and watch a 5+ season show at this point in my life. Especially ones where I keep hearing something along the lines of "you just have to get through the first couple seasons, then in the middle of season three it starts to get good!"
Hard pass to that.
Other shows that fall into that category for me are Lost and Mad Men.
