@Nkwkfld:
Your collection is amazing. Can I ask where all this comes from?
@Nkwkfld Hoarding tendencies and ~10 years of buying and selling secondhand IH goods

RE: Random Rants
Well said @popvulture! I was fortunate enough to elope with my wife. We were married by a judge in Swede Hill pocket park near downtown Austin and we had threw a party a few months later on Valentine's day for friends and family. The party was stressful (and expensive) enough and I can't imagine the challenges that a big ceremony would present! Congrats on surviving the tempest @Mizmazzle, hoping for smooth roads ahead for y'all!

RE: Our Cars (dream or actual)
I may or may not have made a huge mistake but I've got a lifted Cayenne Diesel inbound from LA which should arrive on Monday. Pictures incoming.
Also, @Matt, trucks are stupid expensive right now, I never thought I'd see that day where 1/2 ton trucks are $80k but here we are. Prices are coming down but I expect them to be ridiculous for at least another year. You can see that some dealers are hurting with inventory sitting on the lot but most haven't accepted that the COVID price gouging party is over.

I'd recommend going with your true Brannock size.

RE: Giles and Paula's Great Retirement Adventure
Sounds like you're on to something @Giles. I'd venture a guess that as the tank volume gets lower, you lose the hydrostatic head that assists in pushing the fuel out of the tanks. As you lose the hydrostatic head as the tanks are mostly depleted, sounds like the lift pumps can't keep up with the fuel requirements so the ECM kicks in and kills power. Not sure if you could have them install a lift pump system that works in tandem or a more substantial lift pump. I'm sure the fuel pickup in the fuel tanks is intentionally set higher than the tank bottom to allow for small amounts of water that might inadvertently make their way into the tank. As diesel has a 0.84 SG, any water would settle out on the bottom of the tank. Hope they can get it squared away soon!

RE: Gardening, landscaping and plants in general
Love the Japanese Maples! I’ve tried quite a few over the years but can’t seem to do well with them in the Texas heat. The Bloodgood varietal did okay but never really thrived and got wiped out by our heavy freeze a few years ago.

I'm pretty much committed to flying into LHR because there are direct flights from AUS to LHR and they're actually reasonable and I despise layovers.
