RE: IHM-42-IND - 16oz Natural Indigo Selvedge Denim M65 Field Jacket
We've got these coming to all Self Edge stores so we'll have them in-store and online on release day, I believe we got a total of 40 across all of our stores. Excited to finally get these into the shops, the sample we saw in Paris last year looked amazing.

Just wanted to share that I absolutely love the way SE photograph their models/products.
Haven't purchased from y'all being UK based, but I always use your photos the gauge my interest in pieces, as the natural lighting really does the texture and subtle character of the garments justice.
Thank you so much, that truly means a lot. We spend a lot of time and effort to make sure our photos look a certain way, and messages like this make it worth it!

The last time I posted in this thread was 2009, better late than never I guess.... saw some Grand Seiko talk and had to come drop some photos in of a few models I own!

The Self Edge Bender's Lookbook
The calm solace one finds in a dimly lit dive bar is a feeling known well to many San Franciscans. The deep history of hiding out in a bar goes back over a century in San Francisco. Starting with the Gold Rush days as the capital of California’s lawless “Barbary Coast” to the Kerouac and Ginsberg hang-outs in North Beach in the 1950’s to the Tavern Guild organization of gay bar owners of the 1960’s; San Francisco has seen its fare share of social groups using bars as their home base.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
With this lookbook we’ve put the spotlight on Benders Bar and the people who own and work there. Benders is where we’ve called our home base in San Francisco for two decades and which also happens to be around the corner from the first Self Edge on Valencia Street which we opened in 2006. Just a couple of businesses with distinct visions, aging somewhat gracefully.

CRISTINA SPIRIDAKIS, COSTUME DESIGNER FROM THE BEAR
We caught up with Cristina Spiridakis in Athens, Greece. Cristina is the costume designer who purchased white t-shirts from Self Edge 3 years ago and put Carmy (aka, Jeremy Allen White) from The Bear in them for the pilot episode, three seasons in and Carmy is still wearing the same t-shirts in every episode. Not just any plain white t-shirt, one that created such an internet frenzy that we believe it changed the public perception of a white t-shirt for the first time since Marlon Brando wore one in A Streetcar Named Desire in 1951. Cristina’s t-shirt choice created years of endless “What t-shirt is Carmy wearing in The Bear?” news articles, hundreds of memes, online searches for the tee across reddit/forums/discords, a wild sales boom for nearly all high-end blank white t-shirts, endless brands cashed in by using Carmy’s image to sell white tees, and lastly, a newfound mainstream respect for a blank white t-shirt. The humble white t-shirt thanks you Cristina.
For those who were unaware of all this until now.. Carmy from The Bear wears a Merz B. Schwanen 215 loopwheeled t-shirt and a Whitesville Japanese t-shirt from their 2-pack series. Other characters in The Bear may or may not be seen wearing Strike Gold t-shirts.

Introducing Eskhaton - Truly Hand Made Jewelry
We are launching a new genderless jewelry line this week named Eskhaton, meaning the period of time immediately before the world ends. The word is derived from “ἔσχατος”, meaning “last” in Ancient Greek. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This collection is designed, hand-made, and finished by a single person named Tristan Reynolds. Reynolds is a self-taught jewelry maker based in Melbourne, Australia. He normally does not sell to retailers as his work is generally by commission only so we’re quite appreciative of him working with us on this collection of pieces. Over the past couple of years he’s made some signature pieces which have been worn on runways, record covers, and in the press by Rick Owens, Arca, Jhene Aiko, FKA Twigs, Tyrone Dylan, and Michele Lamy. These were not stylist purchases, but personal purchases by these people who appreciate his work. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Everything Reynolds produces is literally hand-made, as in there are no molds, casts, or computer drawings used. All stones are ethically sourced, and if he cannot source a certain gem ethically he has it lab grown for the piece. Much of his inspiration stems from his fascination with the human form and the natural way we age (or as he puts he, decay) over time. You can find a limited selection of Eskhaton pieces now at all stores and online.

Welcome to At The Edge.
Self Edge is now 17 years old. We’re not yet old enough to vote, but we’re old enough to know better. Since we first opened up shop on Valencia St. in San Francisco in 2006, we’ve learned so much and met so many wonderful people. Now that we’re growing up—a little bit, at least—we think it’s time to tell some stories, share some knowledge, and introduce you to some of the remarkable personalities we’ve met along the way.
LEARN ABOUT IT: LOOPWHEELED FABRICS: First up with we have a little write-up with accompanying photographs about loopwheeled fabrics, click the link in our bio to check it out or go to our Editorials page on our new site. We’ll be updating our editorials section of our (new) site every 2 to 3 weeks with new LEARN ABOUT IT posts, interviews, Self Edge Records playlists, and much more.

RE: real japan blues
Real Japan Blues was sort of absorbed into the Flat Head brand a bit before FH's restructuring, so now it no longer exists as a standalone brand.
Some of their denim and other textiles can be found now mixed into Flat Head's line. -

Strike Gold Loopwheeled T-Shirts and Heavy Leather Belts
These are the ultimate loopwheeled t-shirts, no surprise that they come from Strike Gold, a brand highly dedicated to pushing the boundaries of both selvedge denim and loopwheeled basics.
This heavy 100% cotton fabric is made on vintage loopwheeling machines in Japan. Not many of these machines still exist in the world as they're difficult to maintain and run at a very slow pace. This jersey is produced and pulled down by gravity to create a zero tension knit, creating that trademark horizontal pattern you seen in a well worn in loopwheeled t-shirt or sweater. Available now in black, white, and a new navy color. One sizing note.. to be able to offer these in XXL they cut up the tubular knit fabric (only for this size) to create a larger body t-shirt, making them (we think) the only Japanese brand offering loopwheeled tees up to a XXL size.
We've also received a full restock of Strike Gold heavy cowhide leather belts in tan and black.
