Saw someone that could have been Giles at my Whole Foods in California. Wearing all new-looking Iron Heart gear and some custom Jobmasters that didn't even look broken in yet. o_O

RE: IHSH-130-GB - Grey/Black Ombré Ultra Heavy Western Shirt
do the smaller shoulder measurements offset the longer sleeve length compared to last year? sleeve length and price made me hesitant. now small is sold out lol. beautiful color though.

damn. can't wait to see the gray.

RE: IHSH-131-BB - Ultra Heavy Flannel Blue/Black Buffalo Check Work Shirt
i have the blue/black ombre work shirt so i don't really feel a need for this one. just hope the sleeve length isn't a sign of things to come for the rest of the UHFs this year. the 126 fits perfectly and the 131 has virtually the same measurements except the sleeves are over an inch longer. ???

I have one of them 'merican washing machines and a cold cycle and hang dry resulted in pretty much zero shrink, so happy days. I guess I do miss out on that extra fuzziness from tumble drying though.

RE: IHSH-142 - 10oz Chino Cloth Western Shirt
will the work shirt version flare out as much at the opening? that's the only part i'm not too fond of on this western.

RE: IHSH-127 - 2015 Ultra Heavy Buffalo Check Western Shirts
The sleeves are a bit short, but there is a solution for that…
i've just about convinced myself to snatch up one of the last of these before they go extinct. i have the ombre work shirt which has slightly longer sleeves, but is made of the same material. the sleeves were perfect out of the box , but i use the shirt for work and i've noticed that after a bit of normal use and pulling at the sleeves to take the shirt off multiple times has lead to a bit of stretch, 1/2" or so, to the point where i think the western might actually fit better, post stretch.

RE: IHSH-126 - Ultra Heavy Ombre Check Flannel Work Shirt
i don't like how some work shirts can be really wide in the body or flare out a lot at the opening. this one doesn't do that very much and i like how much more subtle the blue pattern is over the red. much more my style.

RE: Nick’s Boots of Spokane, Washington
For a while I've been using some Red Wing 3140 as my do everything work and casual boot, but I'm looking to take a step [or 2 or 3] up and get some custom fitted White's or Nicks. Probably Nicks tbh because I like their stitching and the way the heel counter overlaps with the upper more. That's practically the only difference between the two boots as the grumpy old man at my local distributor of White's and Nicks kept stressing. Sadly he was a giant douche and probably had never ordered a boot for someone that wasn't a firefighter, so I won't be dealing with him again, but that's a story for another time.
I've been doing research and trying to decide on what configuration I want. I think I'm pretty set on natural CXL, but I wanted to make sure it would be ok for a work environment that takes a lot of scuffs. Seems like that would add a lot of character to that kind of leather, but I've heard somewhat different things about the toughness of the leather. Want to make sure it can take these kind of hits on a daily basis.
Another thing I'm mulling over is the sole type. Since my current boots are a wedge sole and I'm walking on smooth concrete all day, my first instinct was to go for something like this in a 6" version.
But after seeing awesome pics like this, I'm wondering if a traditional logger/cuban heel and a Vibram 700 could be just as comfortable for 8 hour days standing and walking on concrete.
I'm concerned the 2021 sole will wear down too fast with the foot miles I put in, but at the same time having that elevated rubber sole could be better for when I have to stand in up to 1/2" of water when cleaning in the cooler at work.
Lastly… a question about lasts. So, if I wanted the Nicks version of a bounty hunter, I'd just order a 6" boot with the #3 toe? Not really sure what the equivalent would be.
Thanks

RE: Red Wing Shoes
my 3140. 3+ years old. treated with chelsea leather food, then coated over with red wing leather protector after it's been absorbed, whenever they are looking a little dry and/or need some scuff cleanup. i use them as work boots, on my feet in them 8 hours a day on concrete floors in the produce department of an organic grocery store. they get a lot of scuffs from pulling metal and plastic stocking carts around, accidentally kicking display tables etc and often have to stand in 1/4-1/2" of standing water when cleaning in the cooler. looking to make them my backups and ordering some 6" nicks soon.

Any news on a restock? Thinking I would love this in a small. Would love to see some more evo pics too.

RE: IH-666S - The Devil's Fit Indigo - Slim Tapered
cool, thanks. i'll have to double check the thigh measurement of my current jeans with the IH way of measuring. my true waist size is around 30.5, but i don't want a super slim fit with the 30s and the suffering that comes with it. it's a shame there's such a huge step up in waist size between the 30 and 31. my current jeans being 31.5 are already pushing it when it comes to looseness. not a terrible thing as long as the rest of the jeans fit well, since i always wear a belt anyway.

RE: IH-666S - The Devil's Fit Indigo - Slim Tapered
Regular poster over at SuFu, but been lurking here a little bit and doing a little research and I think I've decided that the 666s will be my next jean once my Ande Whall Caribous get a little further in age. The two cuts are very similar. Sounds kinda crazy to be thinking of getting some heavy denim with Summer around the corner in California, but I work in produce at a Whole Foods and we're in a near freezing cooler a lot.
I wear a 30 in the Andes, but the waist measured 31 initially and has stretched to 31.5, so I think a 31 in the 666 would be the size that would most replicate the way they fit, but with a better fitting top block since the 666 has a bit less rise in the front. That is definitely welcome since my Andes seem to have a little too much with how they sit on my hips.
