@Chiba:
Sorry. Top secret event, no photos.
So we are expecting some very detailed descriptions!!
Enjoy J.!
Best store in Tokyo IMHO, during my 2 week visit in Tokyo this year I visited 4 times! Spent money twice. Don't want to think how much I would have spent if my credit card wasn't f#cked up..
@ongaku, Excellent fit mate!
You make me lust for this shirt even more, have to cut some knots eventually and decide on getting it.
Possibly i will get the R-version that's cut a bit wider in the body, the rest of the measurements should be the same, i also have relatively long arms so i shouldn't have a problem with the sleeve lenght.The fades on the shirt you linked are just plain sick!
Cut some knots quickly and get it! They won't be available forever…
Wait a minute….what the heck? That loons perfect on you and the sleeves are in total proportion with the body. Is that the diamond and dots version? It's just so weird because I never have problems with giant arms but this wabash looks so strange on me...did you give it a hot wash or anything?
It's the diamond and dots version and it's proportions are still the same as the day it arrived.
What I understand from Mich there are 2 fits, R and W. I have the 7012W.
To get some perspective: I am 1.77m, 70 kgs. Normallly wear S or 36 (if the sleeves are long enough)
nice collection!
now all you need is:
there are so many nice versions of these great jackets!
grandmasterben, here's a quick fitpic. For me the sleeve length is perfect (it even crept up a little bit on this pic). The bottom of the cuff is indeed a bit wide, but because of the weight and thickness of the denim, it does not bother me. But I have seen seen a pic of an added button here (last pic, with fantastic fade!):

I have long arms, most people would see how FH shirts fit on a tall skinny guy like me and say the sleeves are too short, but I just don't care. I'm willing to accept that in exchange for a good fit in the shoulders/chest. Though interestingly enough, I've noticed that on most Japanese people the sleeves look a little short too, to some extent it's an intentional part of the style.
I have the same issue. I don't mind the shorter sleeves, I try to just own it. I'm pretty lanky though so sometimes it comes off as clownish. In any case, in a lot of vintage workwear photos I've noticed sleeves as being just barely or even above the wrist. So not only is it an internationally accepted look, I think it has some historical basis as well. Of course, in the end, you clothes only look as good as your attitude!
I agree about the attitude part, but I guess I don't have that attitude..
I know people who can wear a sack and look cool
Their wabash shirt is so amazing. The fabric is seriously awesome and I love how hairy it is….. I would've picked it up in a heartbeat except that it's the only FH shirt I've tried that didn't fit me well. Well it did, except that the arms were wayyyyy too big and were about an inch too long.... Do you find it like that too?
I don't know if I've ever seen that particular shirt fit anyone well in the arms.
I eventually picked up a size 40. Sleeves are perfect, but chest, shoulders and neck are roomy (nitpicking here) and could be a size 38. I feel real uncomfortable if my sleeves are too short, would be tugging at them all day.. Don't have any problems with the width of the sleeves though.
I'll try to do a fit pic for you soon.
What's funny to me is hearing how poorly some things fit people and then trying them on and realizing they for you fantastically…
For me it's mostly the other way around! Mostly because I have relatively long arms, compared to my skinny build… I can only wear a few brand of shirts..
I definately agree with FH shirts being wide in the shoulders. But I like their wabash workshirt so much, I do wear it as much as I can!
