My wife got a candid of me when we were setting up for pizza at the beach on Friday. I make pizza every Friday, and we live a couple of blocks from the water. I bought a stack of pizza boxes on Amazon, so in the summer, we sometimes take our pizza to the beach with a bottle of wine, and enjoy the sunset.
The other day, I was at the hospital in an elevator on my way to a doctor's appointment, and a guy said "Double denim. You don't see that too often. I dig it." fist bump
Thought you guys would appreciate that.
Okay, so I spotted some Iron Heart jeans at a Super Bowl party yesterday, and said to the guy "it's not often that I see Iron Heart in the wild. Nice jeans. Are the 888s?" He replied, "yeah 21oz 888." I'm kind of surprised that it didn't even register with him that I guessed the cut. I didn't want to sound super nerdy, so I didn't mention that I knew they were 21oz by looking at them, so I just let it be.
I made burgers for dinner last night. I don't usually buy burger buns anymore because I've yet to find any in a store that are to my liking, so I've been making my own for years. Not the best photo of my burger and oven fries, but it was delicious
A few new bangers yesterday. A rose, a little filler flower in yellow, and a speed skull! Also, I don't know about your tattoo shop, but mine is always cold! My favorite trick for being comfortable is a down vest. It allows access to the arms for tattoos, and keeps the core warm. Highly recommended!
I designed this credenza for a furniture design class. My record player will sit on the top left, the amp directly to its right, and the speakers in the bottom corners, and record storage inside the two big doors.
I modeled the entire thing in CAD so that I can generate a cut list and start knocking out all of the components in the wood shop. Itโll make assembly a whole lot easier.
My wife doesn't like lamb, so when she's out for the night and I can cook whatever I feel like eating, it's a great opportunity to have something like this.
Rack of lamb with bordelaise sauce, roasted potatoes, and steamed broccoli.
I learned that I don't like cell phone fades in my front pockets. So I stopped carrying my phone in that pocket and have found other ways to carry it. Not the most exciting lesson learned, but it's something. Other than that, I just wear my stuff a lot.
Feeling a little pressure on my right instep (something that happens with every new pair of boots for me, due to my strangely high instep on my right foot), and I don't love removing the insoles, so I made some that are half as thick to use as "training insoles" until the boots are broken-in.
Mine are also from the handmade line. Lemon wood pegs, and a whole bunch of details I can't remember. I do remember that I got them at the now defunct J. Gilbert Footwear in Tucson, AZ almost exactly a decade ago. They were a special make-up for the store, and have gorgeous details and a perfect selection of smooth and rough-out leathers. I dug them out of my closet to take a pic for you all.
Well...... Here we go! Just finished a hot soak, and now I'm drip drying. I'll attempt to wear it while it's still damp to get the creases locked in. Wish me luck! This thing is a cardboard beast.
@Anesthetist You were right I love it.
The ID bracelet in the middle is my medical alert bracelet, and that stays on all the time. It also has a really clever clasp (not as nice as the Model 10, but still really nice) that won't ever come off unless I want to take it off. Does it seem like too much to have the fin link chain too? I may just move the fin link to my other wrist.
Lost this amazing 15 year old absolute sweetheart, and everybody's best friend, Murphy, two weeks ago. We are devastated.
Traipsing around Edinburgh last week.
