RE: JAPAN TRIP November 2011
The random umbrellas populating the streets of Kobe make me really want to go back to Japan.
The beer just seems to taste better there, too.

RE: IHW-01 (Melton Wool shirt)
I'm not sure I'd go for the machine wash, but I'm happy and not surprised it took it like a champ.
I recently hand washed the navy in warmer than normal water to see if I could get it slightly shorter/narrower and it worked like a dream. Since it was it's first wash, prior to the heavy use season, I was surprised at how much I liked the slightly rumpled and worn-in uneveness of the melton.
Brilliant garment.

It has been asked before, but I appreciate some repitition. I can be thick headed.
Is the Large the equivalent to a size 40?

RE: SNEAK PEEK - Fall Winter Collection
Giles, is the Ventile Harrington going to take on a similar cut as the Condura breakers of the past? That cut works great for me.
I hope this arrives soon!

RE: Heroes (Buying/ Selling/Trading)
Dexter_ is a patient champ. Busy at work and communication took a few days, due to my work load, but he was gracious and shipped quickly. Many thanks for the rarity!

Just picked up a cycling cap made of ventile. Such a great fabric. Totally pleased and surprised Haraki is using it.

RE: Smokers Anonymous
I got sick for the last few days and just stopped because it's hard to find time to smoke the stomach flu. Now, I'm wondering if I want to go back…
A friend who managed to quit said he had more success quitting while under the weather, for what its worth.

RE: Trips and Travel
I'm going to Kobe / Osaka, Japan at the end of July. All ye gaze upon my (lack of)plans ;):-*
For all those who have been there, had good times, and left broke but not broken, what/where are the must dos and must bes?
I haven't purchased airfare quite yet either though I'm about at the end of my rope in looking for the best flight, which I've found to cost $1000 (into Tokyo) or $1100-1200 (into Osaka, obviouisly prefered). Anybody use particularly savvy travel agents?
The Umeda District will be owned, hopefully mostly by me. Hinoya et al. will see my ugly mug and trap my tourist $$$$, but I'm wondering if the two days I spend there is enough for shopping and maybe a little sight seeing (Osaka castle??) in Japan's second largest metro? Also, food. Tell me where I should eat after doing these hot 'n' heavy (21oz!) days Japan's kitchen.
Finally, anybody been to or know anything spellbinding to do in Kobe? Planning a sake brewery stumble 'n' hop as I hear it's known for it. Should I rent a bike in either city? Help me!

@Omega:
DO NOT LAUNDER WOOL!!!! DRY CLEAN or Hand Wash and then towel dry.
+1, hand wash if it is not too dirty.
Bu..but….I really want to wash this $400 melton wool garment in boiling, bleach-filled water, so that it'll fit my Siamese afterwards....
Hand wash it is! Cheers!

RE: IHW-01 (Melton Wool shirt)
Anybody have any experience laundering their melton?
Brought it to work today and I think I desire some freshness and maybe some shrink. What would warm water do to the melton?

RE: Anyone here play video games?
I am not on Xbox. Although, i'm increasingly considering getting a cheapo 360, just for online play. Ironically, the summer is when I find it hard to make time to game. Gonna go focus on curry now

RE: Anyone here play video games?
I almost bought that, but went with nostalgia instead and swiped Mortal Kombat 9, which is in the classic style.
Nostalgia and I haven't played the first Portal. Judging from reviews and spoilers, I feel it best to play them in succession. Perhaps I'll marthon them both, with copious amounts of soda pop and curries from WAYCT.
Any online/multiplayer capabilities for the new Portal?
