IHF-2012 - 2012 Forum Tee
-
quality materials, solid construction, vintage methods, business overhead, t shirt design, wages.
need more?
2 posts = don't come in questioning business practices and prices
also, I have a hard time spending more than $20 on a t-shirt, but I have the 2011 indigo forum tee. Everything changes once you put it on. It's no Hanes t shirt thats for damn sure.

You forgot exchange rates and import duties.
Currently the yen is stronger against the dollar than it has been in years, so even if all other things remain the same, prices on our end keep going up. Buyers in other countries have other problems; Germany taxes cotton goods at some outrageous level. Check the Samurai thread where Beautiful Freak lays out how the government crushes them.
EDIT: as for being overpriced, well, that's a matter of perception. IH gear is comparably priced for its market segment. If you don't want to shop in that particular segment, then don't. None of us like the cost, but we're willing to spend that much because we believe the clothes are worth it at some level. If you don't, that's fine. There are many and more alternatives out there.
Personally, I love the IH tees. The loopwheeled Shitamachi body shirts have a wonderful weight to them without being oppressively hot or heavy. They're super soft and comfortable, and the construction quality is beyond question. If Haraki-san would make more, (additional colors, more prints, etc.) I'd buy even more.

crazy as it may sound. . . i think quinatt was just joshing about :-\
i know i'm one to talk . . . but i really don't think he meant anything by it
-

i never try to justify the cost of anything, everything is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. i really think he was playing, he also says in the same breath he has two pair of IH jeans, but it is a conversation that seems to be rehashed from time to time.
when is forum tee day?

oh my dear lord. 65 dollar white tshirt! you have to be kidding me. thats a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a tshirt. Ill probably have to buy one.
You think that's expensive? Try USD110 for the standard printed versions. And I wish that anyone was making a decent turn on them. And as someone said above, no one is forcing you to buy them…

Everything changes once you put it on. It's no Hanes t shirt thats for damn sure.
true, you only have to do this..
-
regardless though, I will come to own several other IH items in the years to come im sure.
but 65 for this tshirt!?? WHY??
::) Im sure he will buy them t's. He loves IH so much he's questioning himself wether to buy or not to buy…
but given so many justifiable logics by masters here to why it costs that much, he'll be getting a few of them

Yes, it's crap picture time again. Having just missed out on last years tee, I was determined to get one this year. So glad I did, the construction is fantastic and the colour :).
I know people have mentioned the price, but this is certainly worth it. It's true: you get what you pay for.
Oh, and am I right in thinking that this is a darker indigo than last year?

I knew I was gonna stir the shit with that one…
I figured it was a reasonable question to ask, what can I say. I wish I could say i was purely joking but i wasn't really. I'm still unsure as to the process and the effort (along with the exchange rate) that goes into making this T-shirt that makes it special, which is why I still can't justify spending the money on it right now. But like someone said, no one is forcing me to buy so its all good. I don't doubt that it is a solid T-shirt
As for me coming on here with only 2 posts and bitching about prices...I think if anyone should question the product, it would be a person who is new to the forums and who is unfamiliar with the product. I can't imagine someone with 1000+ posts, dressed head-to-toe in IH gear, to wake up one day and say, "hey i think these clothes might be a little over-priced, i think i should tell some people about it. haha obviously if you've made that many posts on here, you are fully committed hahaha...or you work for the company......
Anyway, with all that said, Im glad I purchased my 2 pairs of jeans at 400 a pair. I cant find this quality of jeans for any less anywhere else so...it is what it is.
I must say though, I get compliments all the time on my DC4s, and when people ask what kind of jeans they are and where to get them, i feel a little bad telling them cause when they go to look them up and see the price, most people will probably shit their pants and get depressed cause they cant bring themselves to spend that kind of money on jeans. I do tell them what they are though....and i wear mine with pride....
sorry im a dick...
Fuck yea! Iron Heart rocks!!!...seriously...its good stuff
-
just a few lines from me…
The stuff is not "over-priced" it have a price point, thats a huge difference.
All of the items are made in limited to very limited quantities what means that the production costs for each item are right away higher than for your usual brand stuff. For the tee, its a Loop Wheeled fabric, might wanna look around what other companies charge... Just to name two points.
Its for sure ok if you think thats too much money for a tee in general, but it is def not "over-priced"
have fun around and enjoy your jeans...

If I thought you were trolling, I wouldn't have responded at all to your question. It's reasonable to want to understand costs. Once you do, it hurts a little less to pay…
-
Go buy a Nike Loopwheeler tee for $65-$75 and tell me it's similar to IH. If Nike is priced similar, then H and G are doing their best to give us a good price.
I also couldn't believe the prices when I first copped IH, but once it was in my hands, well, look at my WAYWT pics, you get the picture.

Confession time.
I've never spent more than $40 on a t-shirt, and it's usually only about $20. I still manage to get stuff that fits me well, and I always go for plain/non-branded, but I'm sure the quality is not up there with FH, IH, et. al..
I'm living a strange contradiction in which i'm willing to spend ~$400 for IH jeans, $1000+ for jackets, and fair bit for shoes, yet hesistant to fork out much for a t-shirt. Sometime soon I'll have to loosen up and see if the extra cash is worth it! Maybe I'll never turn back….

I washed mine yesterday and wearing it today.. Somehow it feels different ; material and fit wise, as to pre wash.
Different like…much better?Am i making sense ?Or is it just me.Found the answer
Shop ad says: These shirts must be washed before wear, in so doing the fabric will "bed-in" and become thicker and more durable. And to my own observation the print colour becomes more vibrant!!
Also $65 for human hands producing loopwheel shirts, time and labour in abundance. Actually, you can understand why it is priced as such.
