You look like you should be slowly following Sylvester Stallone, while he runs through snow, in a Communist Limosine (brilliant name for a band btw).
For anyone else sad enough to get that movie reference

so winter coats. its august so seems a good time to start the ball rolling.
i've been obsessing about a pea jacket and can't make my mind up between buzz rickson or real mccoy.
does anyone have any comparative thoughts?
i've also really been enjoying the filson collection which i understand is available through liberty in london.
i'm all teched out in terms of ski/snowboard jackets so want something substantial and classic.
yes… real mccoys are the best quality you are going to find. even on a hanger they ooze it. However if you dont think you are skinny dont apply, I'm normalish and the fit is way way off and i tried on a couple,. BR nearly as good quality (you wouldnt know if you didnt have the Real McCoy for reference ), but they are shorter so if you think you are tall , then dont apply... the BR one has a bit of a larger collar too, so depending on the length of your neck... well you did ask for comparisons...
other than that either are the best you can find at the moment
you can wait for the IH version of course, modified in details from the reproduction originals, but im sure quality will be very good.

HD let's see that beast on you!
Ok i apologise for the terrible photos and posing but brother was unwilling to retake them as he said i was being "anal" about it lol!
I used to have this coat when it came out a few years ago, bullet proof, last for a lifetime… but the price... I weep now was like 8/900 GBP or something... fond memories before my recession kicked in. Is that a mille miglia badge I see? a true devotee

i'm 174cm and 70kg in weight - slimmest i've been in 10 years due to daily swimming.
i really like the rickson but don't want to get the same coat as my mate so thinking of the real mccoy version.
still i've found ordering japanese clothes on the internet hit and miss probably not helped by rapid weight loss.
in a nut shell i would really like to try it on before i buy and have loved all the real mccoy stuff i've bought so far.
anyone know of any stockists in london or indeed los angeles?

Yeah the Hideout in London is the only one I know of, but you can email Superdenim as I think they are the agent in Europe. From your specifications, I think a 40 in the peacoat would be fine on you.

Anyone have any experience with these? im looking at getting as warm a jacket as possible for this winter because im a bit of a freezer!
I was checking out theyre expedition parka and it seems pretty decent,
anyone know what the quality is like on these?
any other brands of down jacket you would recommend instead?
cheers

SM is right that this should probably be moved.
I did a similar search last year when I moved to Canada. I looked into Canada Goose, but ended up getting a Fjallraven Yupik/Nuuk Parka for my wife and I as they were sleeker and more functional. We love them, but really they are so warm, I didn't even need it more than maybe 10 times last year.
Feel free to PM me for any more info.

I've owned 2 cg jackets in the past 7 years, and yes, they are very warm. A bit 'trendy' where I'm from, but def. a solid investment.
Depending on which model you choose, it will retain most of it's value when you decide to sell it.
As with most parkas, they're a bit bulky. Size down 2 from your IH shirt size. If you want something more fitted, try the Japanese line. The 'Manitoba' parka is very similar to the expedition, but it has a blacked out patch and a slimmer fit.
