Good times with your sister Mrs. G. ! Sisters are best friends….don't you agree ? Don't worry about Mr. G -- we'll keep him company.

Thanks Beats and Shabooba! In La Plagne in France, quite a high resort so plenty of snow still. Warm welcome from my sister Sara and neice Isabella, the three of us plan to have a lot of fun over the next few days. Know I can rely on you lot to keep G amused!

Funny story to me anyway
Last weekend I was cleaning out some mulch in my backyard and decided to scatter it out in the woods in front of the house.
Woods pic here.

So I go out there about 50' into the woods and start scattering it and this hawk which had been about 10' in front of me took off and scared the crap out of me. OK. So there he is in the branches just above me staring and screeching a bit at me. I decide to walk closer… then the loud hissing started. Big. Ass. Snake. All coiled up about 10' off to one side. I guess I disturbed the hawk trying to score lunch. I sloooowly back away (I'm wearing cutoffs and chucks) and then ran to the house, grabbed a pistol and machette and what did I put on without even thinking? My high engineer boots and my IH634s
Here I am thinking it might be a big rattlesnake and I'm going back out there thinking 21oz denim might stop a snake bite. I don't want some big rattlesnake squatting 50' from my house though. SO I then tip toe back to the spot and watch the snake, get it to open it's mouth with a looooooong stick and it ends up just a really big Pine snake. Doom averted. I never heard a rattle but the hissing was so loud it still wigged me out. Talk about a possible Darwin Award.
Kinda funny that here I am thinking there is a big poisonous snake across the drive and I think my IH's would protect me in any way, lol.

I start my new job this Thursday. In this new job, I work with people much smarter than me – MS/PhDs from schools like Yale, Cal Berkeley, MIT, etc....smaller/startup high tech companies in The Bay Area attract the finest caliber out there. I feel honored and blessed to have been recruited....wish me luck ! Truth be told, if I'm the smartest person in the room...the room must be filled with mediocrity. I'd rather be "the dumbest" person among brilliance -- working with high caliber people, I'll max out my own potential and create magic that I never knew I had !!!

Now I'm curious. Where on earth do you live, eczerwonka ? I wouldn't run into these issues in Oakland.
Florida. My neighbors said they've seen rattlesnakes in those woods but not in the last couple of years
They just laughed a me, but they're hillbillies and have lived in these woods for about 14 years. I grew up in the woods back in Illinois but it was nothing like the nasty woods here in Florida.

Don't let higher degrees fool you. I went to NYU, and my peers all think I must be a genius…they don't see me in my office trying to unscrew a flathead screw with a Phillips head screwdriver

LOL !!!!! OMG DougNg, you're fucking hilarious ! I hear you…though I went to Top 20 State Unis myself -- same here. I've made many posts here about my own idiocy when it comes to many skills. High falutin' degrees don't mean everything for sure...but I'll say this much, there's lower risk in hiring someone from a top university -- there's a much higher probability that you're not hiring a dumb-fuck when he or she graduates from a highly ranked university. That said, I've met some brilliant engineers with no undergraduate degree whatsoever...these are the types who started coding (taught themselves) when they were 10 years old.
