A day in Kojima.
Went to the annual Inazuma fest and the place was packed.
There was a rock, paper, scissors contest and I managed to win a cap and 2 tees. Too bad it wasn't one of the main prizes but don't look a gift horse in the mouth, right?
Bumped into the N&F crew.
Went outside to the festival area because we wanted to check out the Jeans St. and surprise… We found the brand new Kojima IH store doing a pre-opening!
Met the boss and he was really nice and friendly. I think he wasn't very sure about my choice of jeans for the contest but still gave me some advice -to do squats-.
I scored one of those lined IHSH-71 beauties.Jeans street was fun.
The flavor of the month.
We had such a blast that I'm sure we will be back soon.

Still figuring out my challenge photos, but here's a little update.
A little color peeking through, but really the only time I notice is in the sunlight. Since the sun was out after a snowy morning I figured I'd snap a few shots.

Challenge #1 - Denim Devils/ Denim Angels
Last week a co-worker of mine at my PT job asked if I knew anyone who knew anything about guitars… lucky for her- my full time job is to manage a music store, so I know a thing or two about guitars! Later in the week she came in with her guitar, but unfortunately there were some issues... This instrument's strings were 3/4" above the fretboard, it was missing a bridge saddle, the neck heel was cracked, and the neck had a serious back bow and was unable to be adjusted with no truss rod. If anyone reading this knows anything about guitars, I'm sure you understand... but for the rest of you- this means the guitar is now firewood, a boat paddle, a paperweight, etc.
Although the pictures don't suggest it- the guitar below is what she came to me with... it's a really unfortunate circumstance living in such a dry climate here in Alberta, Canada- but constant humidification is the only way to keep many instruments from going this way.
I felt pretty bad telling her that her guitar was junk, but the cost to fix the instrument well outweighed the value of it, and she laughingly she said 'Anyone want to buy me a guitar? My birthday's coming up!'….
It just so happens.... I was able to work some magic at the store and fnd a really great quality classical for a pretty fantastic price! I also found a case that had no guitar to match and was able to get a pretty awesome little starter kit together for her.
Community is an interesting thing. I'm a big supporter of the idea that good things come to people who do good, and when you receive something awesome, you should pass that feeling on to someone new. One of the other girls at work gave me her Iphone when my Ipod decided to magically disappear a couple of months ago, and it's a tool that I use every single day- it's amazing how grateful I am for it, so I was really happy to pass those good vibes on to the next deserving person.
If you'd like to see the reaction, you can check it out here:
(PS. I actually didn't know the video was being taken. Kinda funny actually!)
Cheers guys!
