Challenge 1 - Denim Angel
My mother spent some time in hospital, so I decided to visit her. This is where I set out from.
And this was the destination.
Naturally, the weather in Manchester was wonderful, as always.
My mother has a taste for Belgian chocolate, so I took her a couple of bars.
Once at the hospital, I had to wear a fetching apron. You can see the collar of my HWDC 2 t-shirt poking out there.
On the bus back into Manchester city centre I found someone's bag of shopping, which I handed in. Two angelic activities, my karma must have got a bump up from that!
And the following week I did it again. This time I had a request for tea cakes, but got hot cross buns as a last minute substitute.
Another shot of the jeans.

I gave the jeans their first wash a few weeks ago. They're not Sanforized, so I was keen to get all the shrinkage out now, rather than finding out that they'll be two inches two short once we're further into the competition.
The jeans filled up most of the washing machine.
And afterwards I had to take the mandatory indigo stained hand shot.
Lastly, some early evo on the ankles. Unfortunately I don't fall into the Licorice Noose category…

Don't be too sore about it Graeme. Faster wear isn't really worth a crappy job!

To introduce myself:
I am interested in denim and vintage clothing, which I also collect. In Germany are only very limited options cause denim was established in europe only in the 50s.
I have deliberately chosen this model although i know that it will not fade with the same strong (high) contrast as a dark blue one. The reason why i ve chosen these is that this jeans shows the highest standards in denim manufacturing.
An interesting feature of this model is that the warp thread (2.5 mm) (weft 3 mm) was dipped by hand about 20 times in one skein, which creates consciously a slightly irregular color structure.
The jeans were bought in Berlin at DC4 japanese denim store.
I was wearing them while soaking (March 18, 2013) and dipped them dry to get a large number of foldings (combs) from the beginning.
So far I had worn them about 50 days.
