Also the evo came out a lot more after the soak
I'll probably do a soak every 4-6 weeks to keep the cotton strong and help the evo along, I have seen some examples where there was just too much contrast up top with lower leg areas that were still basically so dark they have that black ink look too them still, I'm trying to avoid that. I think for my life a 4-6 week soak regiment is probably about perfect to maintain what I'm looking for in the end.

thanks a lot for the feedback mate…mine are getting wider and wider as well (hopefully that´s more of me slimming down instead of the denim stretching like hell!) ^^
this just sounds about perfect for me then:
@fanya:They tightened back up after the soak to where they were when I originally started wearing them, …

^^ if you want to achieve a lighter overall colour (not too crazy contrast, that is easily doable in this 25 oz denim) you should opt for frequent washes instead of soaks. Just soaking won't get much indigo out, especially not in the places that aren't prone to fade like the lower legs.

^This.
I wear mine every day to work, I walk around 7 miles a day in them and I work with plenty of chemicals. Mine will be washed (not soaked) monthly to avoid being destroyed.

I may have retired my contest MBBs. About a week ago I switched back to my SExIH13s due too the long rise of these continuing to drive bonkers. I had begun wearing my MBB at the same place on my hips as I do my mid rise jeans and have developed whiskers under the back pockets of my jeans and it looks weird to me. That top block is just enough to get under my skin and has been my nemesis since recieving these

Dunno my 666 xhs didn't do it…

Seems to me that it's probably more a function of fit than denim, unless the denim is so stiff still that it doesn't lie properly. I wear mine the same way that you do TMT because of the same issue. I'm about 6'2 and if I pull mine all the way up to where they are probably designed to fit then they look like they are eating me alive. When I let them slouch I like the fit better but there is extra fabric under the pockets which may be what is causing the pocket whiskers. I have been wearing mine a lot more since we have been having mild weather and mine are starting to develop the same fades but only time will tell how bad they will get.

Have you guys tried a hot wash or two? I've seen a few people on here who say they've gotten noticeable shrinkage on the 25oz denim with a hot wash. Which might explain why these have a slightly higher rise than their 21oz counterparts, to accommodate for expected shrinkage. My 23oz shrunk enough to notice, and they're sanforized as well.
-
I've been doing hot soaks every week or two and I notice a shrink but they stretch back out.
As far as the rise and fades I don't know, I wear mine lower than I like due to it but I get weird fades from he leg straps at work so I'm not sure what is what.
I swear someone successfully lowered the rise on these an inch. Try the denim doctor in the UK, I think he did flinns alterations quite successfully. I was thinking about it but I'm too deep in now.
-
I remember that alteration fanya, I think it wasdenim doctor can't remember if UK or US though either way though I'm kinda in the same boat with being to deep in… Weird underbutt fading going on that would look even more awkward if straightened out now. Perhaps ill be reinspired to put them back on later on down the road.
-
Somebody had successfully lowered the rise but ended up affecting the pocket-size I believe.
-
MikeC mentioned Railcar in California lowered the rise on some MBBs.
