i'm sitting inside the world headquarters of Equal Vision Records at the moment as i type this. I'm about to go get lunch with my boys steve & dan.
my first show was in dec of 88:
Gorilla Biscuits (never showed)
Sick of it All
Raw Deal
Laughing Hyenas
Screeching Weasels
Sponge Tunnel
24-7 Spyz (cancelled)i've been going to shows for way too long. i've been away from home for a week now and i'm meeting back up with my friend's band here in albany tonight and going to a few more shows with them. i've been sleeping on crappy couches and floors and taking showers in cruddy places. i'm too old for this touring business. so hats off to all of the dudes that keep doing doing it. i'd rather be home hanging out with my dog, cat & lady eating good food and sleeping comfortably. My Iron Hearts keep me comfy though.

Its getting pretty VLV in here.
Also Youth Attack puts out a lot of good shit, but… The fact that McCoy can put whatever price he wants on anything and the legion of newage hipster hardcore kids will pay whatever he wants for a 1 of 5 trashbag t-shirt is kind of silly, and not very true to the DIY hardcore ethic.

true, but in my old age i've stopped caring about collecting so as long as i can listen to it i'm pretty happy haha.

VLV GO AWAY!
-
i'll be honest. i dont know what vlv is.

I was talking to Tom, but VLV is, well… Imagine a more dramatic but less testosteron fueled B9-board...
haha sorry. didnt mean to butt in.
but that sounds, well…..sort of awful? hahahhaa.
on a completely different note....i just discovered (late pass) that the dischord site has most records for digital dl for pretty cheap. They have some gems on there like the Deadline Lp and the United Mutation Ep. Hadnt heard them in years and they were both 3 bucks. awesome!

Well… If you have been on VLV for a LONG time (like, 6-7 years), some people are like family haha...

sorry, didnt mean that as an insult. when someone brings up the b9 board i automatically think of internet beefs and lots of "slurs" haha. I sort of shy away from messageboards, but this one somehow sucked me in!
Btw…i like that all is suffering stuff you posted. If you havent heard them, I really dig Martyrdod from sweden. Both albums "Sekt" and "In Extremis" are great!

With less n00dz.
@simon626:
I like that band a good deal.
I also have an extremely hard time figuring out what genre something is besides rap, rock, and pop. Everything blends…
Not to sound like the genre police or anything, but AILD is more "metalcore" than anything else, fresh out of hot topic and the like.. Definitely not hardcore.

That part of your family you HATE!!!!!!!

Eli - I grabbed a pair of 634's. Nate grabbed a pair of 301's as an exercise in half-Asian traumatic shopping bonding solidarity. Both are getting chainstitched right now…
But back to hardcore, eagerly awaiting the new Crow 7" and Nagoya City Hardcore comp LP. Should be here any second now.
I also just snagged a couple Beyond Pink LP's. They were described to me as "5 Swedish chicks sounding like Negative Approach." I'm skeptical, but found both LP's for $8 apiece, so why not. Trying them out in a sec...
