it's amazing how college sports is such a big thing in the US. most places around the world don't give two shits about students playing sports. must seem like a lucrative thing in the US considering how those players get scholarships and such…
There's the rub, they aren't really students, they're unpaid professionals in a development league. The moral bankruptcy of our system is undeniable. These athletes need to be paid.

More importantly, the whole March madness is giving junkies, bookies their annual rush of dopamine and adrenaline ::).

Yeah, I find it fascinating how they're even able to talk about it. I couldn't even name all the colleges in NSW, let alone anything they do. Love that about US Culture as an observer on the outside

I am a UofL man, but I suspect they is gonna lose tonight, even though they are GIVING 2.5 points… and no one is going to beat KY.
Well, I happily stand corrected Go Cards! Ha!

yeah. you're right. same for me here in WA or even back in Singapore. though i'd have to admit as an athlete myself, i'm in envy of the amount of dollars put into it and how big the whole college sports industry, if you'd call it that, is. it presents much opportunity to the athletes given the popular nature of it, given that in other countries, there is a lack of them.

Is it bad Eli??

Something weird happened at the Regent Street Apple Store in London today…

I don't understand why chainstitching machines exist that make a really wide hem. Case in point:
Vs
So annoying, I'm literally afraid to get my jeans chainstitched for fear that the hem will look like the first picture. Seriously, it looks so terrible, is rather do it myself at this point!
-
Yeah, I got burned on that by SELA as a matter of fact, not happy with the hem on my 5105s. Iron Heart does a much better job.
-
Sweet, nice tension, actual roping.
Mine:
That hem eliminates what's so cool about Union Special chainstitched hemming. No horizontal tension (to create a roping effect) and the hem is too wide. If shipping weren't so costly I was going to send them to Giles.
Versus IH:

I had my Mister Freedom 64 Okinawas chainstitched at a local place in Chicago (the only place here with a Union Special), and it's probably the worst hem job I've seen. The hem is probably a half inch wide with absolutely zero roping, the distance between each stitch is absurdly small. and the width of the stitch itself is wider than any i've ever seen.
I'd have been more pissed about it, but I'm guessing it's partly due to the fact that they rethreaded the machine to match the olive stitch that comes stock on these. I didn't ask for this, but I appreciate the effort. I would have preferred a yellow stitch with more pronounced roping.
