After their new year wash.

For the month of january, i'll be mostly taking the denime 66xx out and about for the world tour going on in superfuture while wearing my contest IH on and off. i'll still share photos of my jan travels in japan though.
And here we go.. First up landing in tokyo and getting to osaki where my hotel is.
I went out in search for a coffee place in harajuku area. it took quite a walk to find it.
Little Nap coffee stand. They're really well hidden in a small lane far away from the hustle and bustle. Tucked away among the residential building. Even the store interior was not huge, maybe about the size of a decent bathroom. However the coffee's pretty great. This place has been recommended by a mate who's a barista back in perth. The owner's rather quirky and he's got a couple of vinyl decks in the corner and many intricate stuff on display too.
to be continued..

continuing on, my first visit was straight to visvim and indigo camping trailer. I really hadn't plan on doing much today as i just arrived. just pretty much spent the day round shibuya and harajuku area.
And then there was lunch
one thing i realised in japan is that, there's plenty of european imports in LHD. came across this which i always wanted but in the 6x6 set up.
walked around a little more at night and having a early night before sightseeing tomorrow..
i'm still looking for a perfect vantage point for this shibuya crossing shot…
the denime 66xx pair i'm wearing for the world tour feels very different from my contest IH pair, perhaps it's the weight maybe. i disliked how the rise sat in the first place but i've grown into it.

Some of the meals during the day. one of the best tempura's i've had. tucked away in a little corner in Asakusa
As mentioned before, picked up the rental GTR and went to odaiba before resting up for the night for fuji on Day 3
and always, a mandatory full body pic…
i'm pretty exhausted after waking at 5am getting up to go to fuji and such for a whole day out. hope you guys enjoy the little amount of photos!

beautiful pics @louisbosco - keep it up!

Got me hooked @louisbosco always love to see different views of Japan.
Some other highly recommended coffee shops BTW - https://medium.com/@wadeis/tokyo-filter-coffee-aka-third-wave-649fd73a7c0b. One has moved (Paddlers), others have opened more locations (Blue Bottle & Steamer). All are pretty amazing!
-
cheers buddy. i will try. day 4 and i'm more exhausted day by day @Finkster
@Snowy cheers mate. your trips has been eye opening too. i'll bear those places in mind. have yet to try streamer but it's definitely on my list. though i have to say, japan's coffee are much darker than usual or what i get in perth..

@louisbosco - how is the GTR to drive?!?!
-
@PSB mate, it was amazing. definitely an experience. the sount of that exhaust is lovely. the acceleration is brutal once the boost kicks in about 4000rpm. it simply just goes. i'm amazed by the road holding during corners as well. i have some videos doing an uphill run on mt fuji because i was the first car to enter pushing it about 50-60% only though as the roads were a little wet. but i first need to learn how to upload videos. maybe someone could recommend a video hosting site? youtube or something else?
@Snowy i'm starting to get into v60 filter coffees. the name of pour over and chemex is beyond me right now, but if it's filter i'll have it. i know you're mostly drinking chemex right?
-
Most of the places I linked you to specialise on/in filter coffee BTW :). It's what Japan is best known for in the larger coffee scene AFAIK too.. Pour over == another name for filter. Chemex, again the same, just another 'brew method'. I bounce between Kalita Wave and Chemex depending on week day vs weekend :). Enjoy your time, look forward to seeing what you get up to!
