Toyo's Whitesville Japanese Made T-Shirts & Rugged Road Aizome Dyed Vintage Scarves
Toyo, the company behind Sugar Cane, Buzz Rickson, Mister Freedom, and Sun Surf has been making some pretty amazing t-shirts for quite some time. We're finally able to stock these at all of our stores and they're available now as 2-packs and come in three colors.
Along with these new Whitesville tees we've also gotten our hands on some vintage aizome dyed scarves. Aizome is the original indigo dying technique from the 17th century in Japan. Some have been lightly patched and they come in a variety of shades, they're absolutely beautiful. We were able to get about twenty per store and will most likely not be able to restock these once they're gone.

Self Edge x Strike Gold = SEXSG24 / Wavy Standard Jeans
With over a year of development, many months of waiting, and the idea that you can still do something new and interesting with denim, we bring you a collaborative jean between Self Edge and Strike Gold.
After five years of carrying Strike Gold at Self Edge we felt it was time to do a collaborative jean. We designed a denim with them which we found out was not only difficult for them to produce but also took quite a few iterations to get it feeling the way we wanted it to. Yes, feeling.. this denim is all about texture, a texture that will visually come alive with regular wear.
This is a mixed fiber length denim woven on a shuttle loom at a slow speed giving the denim a wavy texture which is not only visual but can also be felt from the inside and outside of the jean. We've upped the weight a slight bit from what you normally see a denim this loosely woven made at, these clock in at 17oz per square yard. We've kept Strike Gold's traditional back pocket stitching except it's done in a tonal indigo-dyed thread so they're barely seen when new but over time will become slightly more visible. The jean is stitched together using a cotton poly-core stitching, this ages like cotton but has the strength of poly. And finally the deerskin patch is printed with a gold foil stamp to match the selvedge id of the jean.
These are available in a new straight tapered cut and Strike Gold's popular xxx9 slim tapered cut. Check our online store for a full spec list, measurements, and more info than you'll ever need for a pair of jeans.
These jeans will go on sale at noon (local time) at all Self Edge stores on Saturday, August 6th. They will also be available online at 9am (PDT) the same day.

Having seen them in person yesterday, these things will not be disappointing anyone. They are gorgeous! For sure getting me a pair of the straight tapered!

Damn, these tick a lot of boxes for me. I have the 5105's which are a similar denim, and I love the denim, but the fit through the thighs and knees is a bit too slim for my taste. These are a heavier version but still a loose weave, and with polycotton stitching for more durability, and they have more room in the thighs. I wish the knees were a bit wider in the straight tapered fit but that's my only reservation. It's going to be tough resisting these.

3sixteen Garment Dyed Pocket T-Shirts
We’ve just received a batch of 3sixteen’s pocket t-shirts which have been garment dyed in three different colors. These look and feel great and we love the contrast stitching on the t-shirt due to the construction thread not absorbing much of the dye during the dying process.
These are available now at SESF, SEPDX, and in our online store.

Studio D'Artisan Hank-Dyed Natural Indigo Jeans, Indigo Jacquard Shirts, & Wild Ass Loopwheeled Tees
One of the strongest shipments of product of the year has just shown up, this one from Studio D'Artisan. They've done a very limited new jean made of a natural indigo hank-dyed yarns. Limited to only 100 pairs worldwide this jean has been triple-stitched throughout yet looks like a narrow double needle stitch due to the third (outer) stitch being indigo dyed cotton. Lot's of very unique details on this jean, not to mention the denim is absolutely beautiful.
We've seen quite a few jacquard woven shirts but not many which are an intricate pattern in indigo stitched over an indigo yarn dyed base, it's indigo overload this month with SDA. The shirts look like a dark navy but there is a three dimensional pattern woven over the base; these come in two versions, a tree pattern and a pineapple pattern. We have one which we've been wearing and washing and the pattern is more apparent as the garment lightens up in shade with normal wear.
Along with these items we have some super wild loopwheeled t-shirts, stitched together with a flatlock stitch machine. The horizontal weave pattern on these t-shirts is apparent when new, but really comes alive after you've washed the shirt as it twists the garment in the direction of the loopwheeling machine's stitch.
All these items are available now in our online store and at all five Self Edge stores.

Can't imagine it will release on DVD, Blu-Ray or digital download till after the cinema screenings.
For those in the UK, 'Weaving Shibusa' is showing in Soho on October 5.
-
I was down in San Francisco a few weeks ago, the day before the premiere, and was able to talk to Young at SE. He said they are hoping to make it available through a few different avenues after the director has taken the film to a number of festivals. So could be a bit before most are able to see it, but the good news it is coming eventually.
-
@kiya Are there any further plans to release "Weaving Shibusa" to other markets? I'd really love to see this film and my wife has even shown interest! Any information you could share would be great!
As Dylan said above there is a London premiere Oct 5th, we're doing a Manila premiere on Oct 1st, a New York premiere (during Inspiration weekend) on October 14th, a Portland premiere in mid-November, and a Mexico premiere on December 14th.
Once all of those are over we'll be looking into digital distribution.
