All Things Mac/ Apple
-
I got a new Mac book pro the other week. I was a bit dubious about the touch bar but it is actually very useful
-
how's the battery? i'm skeptic about the usb-c though, not really ready for that yet..
-
It's not too bad.
Yeah i had to buy a couple of adaptors for that
-
^^ yeah the only thing putting me off from upgrading my 2011 MBP 15' is the usb-c. and the lack of CD drive. believe it or not, i'd still buy cds for artists that i truly love.. and it's been a wonder having a cd drive..
-
fair enough.. but i haven't bothered with one for my MBA since few years ago. doubt i'd do that now. but of course, eventually i'l probably have to..

Really wish I could get some AirPods. STILL a 6 week delay. I refuse to preorder @ a 6 week wait. The weeks go by, but the waiting time is still 6 weeks. I've looked in multiple countries.
I've seen 2 pairs in the wild since launch..These things are exclusive!
Still 6 week lead time, come on!!
-
I've been tempted by the AirPods but put off by the lead time as well. Although I really wish JH Audio would come up with a Bluetooth cable/solution.
-
Finally some updates for the iMac range…I wonder how spendy the Pro is gonna be?

Got to be at least £4500 plus.

I ended up getting them at some point. The audio quality's okay, handy as feck in general tho.

@Snowy question. when you use the air pods, are you using it with the ip7 though? i'd honestly doubt the quality of sound from apple compared to my shures, but that begs the question with the new home pods. are they worth it and is the sound quality up to standards?

Yeah you're probably right….dammit.

yes on ip7. very handy for con-calls, and 'doing' things and not having the cables get in the way. extremely useful and the sound's not bad, just not shure quality.
-
nice.. thanks. i've been on the fence about getting one.. although, i honestly doubt i'll put much use too it..

Wired have a first look at Apple's new campus.

Have now had 2 people in the last month @ work come up and thank me for recommending them the airpods. Both have said revolutionary. I've been like they're handy/cool (per earlier) but those 2 guys (both in late 40's) were blown away..go figure…
-
Slightly off topic, but still made by Apple, what are people's experience with Beats headphones? We have (shared in our house) some Solo 2's and some Studio wireless, for the price I am not blown away by either of them.
-
beats is thrash. for that price, i'm not happy with it's audio quality. i had a pair of their in ear ones many years ago when they were under monster. also the built quality is absolutely shit. if you want something good to start with, shures is the place to go.. im not one to slag off a product that badly but it didn't wow me at all. maybe they've improved, i'm not sure. but it's definitely cool that they have the same wireless chips as the airpods
