s tronic, so i'm assuming quattro awd?
Sadly no. The only AWD A3 for sale was more than 1200 miles away from a snowy part of the US. And it didn't have a warranty lol

yeah if it's german, it had better come with warranty.. im surprised the s tronic isn't paired with awd in the us. i'm pretty sure for an s tronic gearbox down under, it's definitely awd.

Yep - "there's nothing more expensive than a cheap Porsche"
Even the sales guy that sold me the car mentioned he had only seen an AWD A3 wagon once, and it was on a trade in on an A4 Avant a few years ago.

Thanks @Seul! I was very fortunate to have a father that loved and shared his passion for working on and owning cars. As for the snow pics… yes I was driving (after the windshield was cleared off). That particular year the snowfall was so heavy, our family friends had to leave their mini van at the cabin we stayed at, and 7 of us safely and somewhat comfortably made it down to the lower elevation easily in the black behemoth. And it's been driven in far worse conditions at night heading to Lake Tahoe, where even other vehicles with snow chains were told to stop and turn around by the California Highway Patrol! 16 years and coming up on 200K miles it's been one off my best investments, gets us where we want, hauls what we want, and still imho looks fantastic compared to the H2s and Chevy Tahoes my friends and coworkers have bought and sold over the years.
Simply gorgeous to wake up to... snow, snow, snow!

@Seul very true! Though blasting Paysage d'Hiver, Metallica or even Megadeth while driving for over an hour through that snowstorm would have been too much for my passengers to handle! ???

oh boy. love those ford american market
utestrucks. they cost to get one over here. the f150 raptor is a dream.. how do you even wade through the snow?!?! -
@louisbosco once it gets rolling it'll run through fresh powder or falling snow like butter. After the snow plows have run through, it's just about gaining some traction and a feel for the iciness of the road. After 2 years of putting snow chains on our F150, I was over it and decide on the Beast. Lock the front hubs, put it in 4x4 and go!
I've always wanted to own a crew cab Raptor, perhaps in a few years and sooner if a 50th Anniversay Bullitt Mustang doesn't see production :D!

@Giles your grandfather had excellent taste! I'd take it in a heart beat too!

Great picture @Giles. Any idea where it was taken…Brooklands maybe?

I like the look of this:

^ it's bordering on obnoxious. But for some reason I like it too.

That's what makes it good.
