Fragrances
-
Hi Snowy, my fave still is Bowling Green (Geoffrey Beene). Most often go without a fragrance, though. Hope all is well with you down under.
-
Surprisingly, a lot of japanese stuff here as well….
Still, Creed Aventus is my favorite, it´s very long-lasting and just great fragrance.

Yeah, I've spent the better part of the past year trying to find one fragrance that I could make my signature scent, and trying really hard to not let it be Aventus just because of all the hype. I've all but given up, it's just such a great and versatile scent. I've found quite a few great options along the way, though, including Royal Mayfair and Millesime Imperial (also from Creed), Thé Noir 29, Rose 31, and Gaiac 10 from Le Labo, Bergamot Soleil and Mistral Patchouli from Atelier, Eau d'Orange Verte from Hermes, and Jubilation XXV from Amouage. But I think Aventus will be my main go-to, with a few of the others for special occasions or just to switch it up a bit.

… @TheTrooper I still want to try the CdG Incense though. Which one is that?

Resistance is futile, seriously.

Quarzazate and Jaisalmer

actually it depends, @Snowy what kind of smells do you like?
-
I don't wear fragrances, but I got dragged into Commes des Garcon by @louisbosco, and quite liked Wonderwood, Wonderoud, and Amazingreen.
Of the three, Amazingreen stuck in my head, but it smells rather like a mixture of a woodland and a salad. I'm not sure if it would be particularly versatile, but it is distinctive.

i need to go and smell the rest again. the wonderwood is feeling a little too strong over time..

At the Moment besides the 5-6 Fragrances I have in my Rotation I am testing the three Campfire Colognes by Juniper Ridge. I´d say I smelled lots of Parfumes the last years but non of them comes even close to the JR ones when it comes to smelling like real Nature, not woody or earthy but proper walking the dog after heavy rain Forest smell. I like it but i am a Forest Boy, if one is not into Nature then those aren´t for him or her.

Creed Aventus, Creed Original Vetiver, Creed Virgin Island Water, Dior Sauvage, Acqua di Parma Colonia, Tom Ford Grey Vetiver, Hermes Terre de Hermes, and Mugler A Men Pure Malt.
I've journeyed down another rabbit hole…

@tmg:
I'm enjoying Tom Ford Black Orchid, such an intriguing aroma
I'm a modern man, but that I must say is right on the edge of what a man can get away with wearing imho.

It's certainly different, but my girlfriend loves how it smells on me, and in fact was quite surprised when I mentioned that it was unisex - she felt it was more of a male scent

I am VERY picky with most things I spend my money on. Colognes I am extra picky in the scent department. I on go to the regular stores and buy if I'm looking at something new so I can try it on me for a walk round the store or mall. 90% of the colognes are crap….but I found one that I really love on me. Gucci actually makes good men's cologne. I hate almost everything else they make or sell though.
