No worries @BrownIcon. To be fair it's not that particular boot either. Different strokes for different folks, I just happen to have always disliked the look of basically any boot with a wedge style sole.

I can take neg criticisms, but I push back on unwarranted nasty close-ended comments that are solely meant to insult & disparage
That boot brings out the worst in me. But don't worry, I'll stick to the Beer section on StyleForum

Never thought I'd own a pair of Engineers just cuz I dint feel I can pull off that sorta steez … & now i got 2pairs.
Styleforum GMTO is a great way to get some jawns that're more rare/unique than a limited edition. This year, I thought I'd venture out of my comfort zone [again], as I did w/ the Trickers Allan Teak Cordo & Viberg Tobacco Chamois "Hopper" … w/c was my very 1st engineers ... only this time, I'd like to contribute & be a part of the creative process.
Inspired by Kyle Reese's (Michael Biehn) BlackTrench X BlackNike hi-tops from the first Terminator movie__ 'thought I'd treat the **Scout**s to a stealthy, more nimble, "hit-the-ground-running" kinda cross-utility urban trekker fit for a NYcity-dweller.

i saw them on your instagram. to be honest, the black was what made the decision for me. SF had great GMTO especially with trickers and alden in the past i think..

Hey, man! FOK updated possible leather substitute__ Scotch Grain Print Horse Butt (Italy) & cuz of the thickness, it can be done on stitchdown. So far, got 2 SuFu peeps interested, pending actual price quote. -
thanks. sorry if i wasn't clear. what i meant was the all black kinda made me not wanna get it. not too sure how i'd feel of a full black boots personally right now.

Ahhh, I see … cool! There are other make-ups right now that are on discussion for voting, just in case you're on a hunt for a pair of mtos. -
Any Viberg owners care to offer some advice to help me with the following conundrum?
I'm looking at getting a pair of Viberg service boots. This would be my second pair as I already own a pair of scout boots with a Vibram sole. I've narrowed my choice down to two options:
1) Brown service boot with dainite sole.
2) Brown service boot with vibram sole.
My dilemma basically relates to the sole type. I've tried on both pairs and while the Dainite sole felt fine when I tried it on, the Vibram is definitely more comfortable on the foot. As soon as I put the Vibram sole on I knew that this would be super easy to wear all day long. On the other hand, the Dainite sole makes the boot a little dressier which I don't get with the pair of scout boots I currently own. I'm pretty casual with most of the clothes that I wear but having something a little nicer to wear on my feet wouldn't be a bad thing.
Waddaya reckon?

backed, it will give you a new option, you don't seem to have atm. What is always a good thing. And if this really does not work at all for you, you can still resole the pair with a vibram of your choice…
Hadn't considered resoling as an option but that is a fair point…
-
Dainite, absolutely.
As you've pointed out, it gives you a sleeker option. As rocket pointed out, if you don't like the Dainite, you can resole down the road.
And that Vibram sole looks, um, very comfortable.
