IH-634S - 21oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo

Also, I would seriously consider the 888 cut as a halfway between the slim taper of the 555 and the relaxed, straight cut of the 634.
Yep…agree. I usually do wear 634. I think there is a huge difference between 634 and 555. 634 is a true old school straight cut, no taper, 555 is a modern (very) slim cut. If you need more room around the tights but want a narrow hem I would give the 888 a try.

I dont have much more to add except I agree with these gents about the 888. I own 2 634 cuts and have owned a 555 cut and they are pretty much polar opposites. Both great in their own ways but going from one to the other is a huge jump. But….If you are looking for a straight leg than look no further than the 634. It’s a pretty great cut.
The 888 is pretty versatile in that you can change the look by how you size them. I went TTS and they are a slim but very comfortable pair but next time I want to size down for a more modern look but with the 888 taper and rise v the 777.

Thanks everyone for your comments, I do want the 634S but I just don’t want to order the wrong size. I saw some post where some buyers wanted to go down a size because they were to big in the top block.
If I go with the 888 cut, I would be going to another slim cut and what I want is opposite to the 555 so I can have different cut for different situations.
Thanks

The 888 is not a slim cut. It is tapered but much wider in the leg than a 555
All jeans will stretch at the waist. Normally about 1”. The 21oz stretches quicker than most and sometimes more.
Measure a pair that you own, that fit well and are worn. Take that waist measurement subtract 1” -1.5”. The result is more or less the waist measurement of your new pair.

Potentially a crazy question, but has anyone ever had these chopped to shorts? If not, does anyone see any issues with shorts in this weight denim?

Cheers @neph93 - there's a pair in the outlet that are too short for me, and the shorts I wanted are out of stock in my size, so I started having ideas

Ooof they look great @louisbosco
-
i'll try to find a pic of my actually wearing them…
-
Here’s a pic of them on. Sorry the most recent one I can find is at the pronto denim carnival..
Definitely no issues and very breathable given Thailand’s humid and hot weather. In fact, they are my go to shorts in the summer down under, which says a lot given our heat. Just a note that my pair were made as shorts and not cut from jeans.. I believe, since haraki made them for a summer event in japan.

Yeah they're pretty legit, and you've answered my question of whether a little cuff might look silly (it doesn't). Payday tomorrow, a week off ahead and hot weather forecast. The writing is on the wall. Cheers for taking the time to dig that out @louisbosco

@LewisStonehouse no worries. glad it was helpful.

Just took delivery of the 634S(horts), perfect fit IMO
Super chuffed!

Yes indeed. Very nicely done @LewisStonehouse . Have you had the turn ups sewn in?
Also, do you know about the personal message function on the forum? Sent you one this last week…
