Pocketknives/Kitchen Knives/Fixed Blades

@mvb:
anyone know this guy/knives?
http://www.cartercrafts.com/available.htmis it any good?
Never heard of this guy.
Personally, I don't like the low sabre grinds
I also strongly dislike 440C steels. Sure, they're very corrosion resistant, but they don't keep an edge worth a damn
He does use carbon steels like 1095 and L6, which I do like, but most people don't care for carbon steel

i used to carry around knives from Cold Steel. does the job really well. it's really affordable as well. plenty of cool designs.
used SOG utility knives extensively in the Army. piece of crap really. gets rusty easily and can't take much of a beating.
sadly, pocket knives are banned in Australia at the moment. $1000 fine - straight up.

Australia and UK both seem to share the same reflexive frenzy about nanny state oversight.
I have spent some time in Australia - despite the awesome roads/scenery I have never been so bored driving there, their approach to speeding is bordering on the insane. You've haven't been bored until you overtake someone at 120 kmh, who is doing 119 kmh.

I just bought a Spyderco Persistence online. I felt that I needed something bigger than the Dragonfly but still pocketable so I hope this does the trick. Nothing fancy but I'm still looking forward to getting it. Never had a linerlock before either and if I like it I might go for a Sebenza at some point.
DS, that Damascus Sebenza is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!
