IHB-06 - Heavy Duty "Tochigi" Leather Belts - Black, Brown and Natural
-
I was indeed talking about the method referred to on the website. The belts are constructed this way so that they can be easily adapted by shortening the length. Chicago screws are the small brass screwed that you can see holding the pieces of leather by the buckle together.
It is your belt, so you decide of course.

I totally value all your suggestions! Just a bit scared to cut the length of the belt by myself and to get the screw positions in place which is why the option 2 is easy for me. All I need is a Teardrop punch and I know where exactly it is going to come! But since I do not have one, I need to find a way to do it if I do it by myself!

You use the bit you cut off as the template for the holes. Shit, I think even @Seul managed it himself….
It is how you show in the video and I don't want to do that where in the video you cut off just after both the holes and use that as a template to punch 2 new holes. I can do that! It is indeed easy, but I do not want that. I just want to cut 3 cm off the belt and to me this is not as straight forward as you show in the video. That would mean I need to cut just 3 cm off from the belt which would leave me with one hole and I need to align the second one accordingly. It is a bit of work that I want to avoid ding by myself! Like I said the alternative would be to do it like I'm going to do in the image below! This is enough for me for now! Even though the hole is circular, I'm going to live with it!

Mission accomplished! Without any proper tools, with just a drilling machine, I managed to size the belt down! I had to cut about 3 cm off the belt to match the size that I want! This would just cut the first hole near the buckle and I had to carefully match the distance between the two holes and place the new one accordingly! The belt now sits comfortably on my waist! Perfecto!

X-post for the sake of posting. Day 1 of this monster belt.

The brown looks shinier on photos than real! This is just wonderful! It is 6 months for me now on this belt and I can say that this is the most liked IH item for me!

Received the brown XL today and initial impression is very good. It dwarfs it predecessor - in the pictures it looks like a "normal" belt, but once you hold it you realise that every proportion is just big - it's heavy, wide and thick. And a very beautiful leather.
I need to shorten it, but at the moment I'm wearing it, just to get it broken in a little bit. Is quite soft out of the bag, though.

It is indeed a very nice leather and as you said the pictures do not do the justice! I have mine for about 8 months and it has very nicely molded to my shape.
I needed another belt for my one other pant that I usually wear in rotation. I wanted to give this a try and I'm awaiting for it to be delivered.

Any photos of the IHB-06-NAT with some patina?

Love it. Thanks for sharing, @Giles . Now I feel like a silly tater for missing this on sale.
