Hats and Beanies

Been wanting an Open Road for a while, but a felt hat in Florida doesn’t make a lot of sense…
Luckily, having the stockyards means tons of Stetson options during my Texas trip and snagged this:
I’ll probably wet and steam the brim to get it flat and then invert it for a few
Weeks to get that more traditional open road round look, but overall I really like it.And the wife is going to HATE it.

No man that’s a keeper. I’ve wanted something similar for a while and seeing yours is making my wish I would have bought one last spring. Great look, wear it with confidence and it’ll win her over.

Bought a nice red/white wool ball cap on sale from Ideal Cap Co. a while back. Came with a nice looking vintage patch from a less than ideal automaker (hint: it's one of the Big Three, and definitely the worst one but I'll let you decide which one that is :D). Replaced it with an IH patch and I must say it's a perfect match, almost looks like it could be a stock item (although the cap's construction isn't quite up to IH standard). Serves as a reminder that jeans, much like cars, may have been invented by Europeans but both were certainly perfected by the Japanese.

Finally getting my Navy wool MFSC watch cap shaped the way I like…
Hoping after a while it will get loss fitted like it’s olive brother
Really wish I could find a dead stock Naval Supply Edition Watch cap with the patch and stenciling…

Looks glorious ! I’d love to get one but I have zero clue how that sizing works, as I have not worn a fitted cap in decades

@appfaff exact same boat, and being in New Zealand makes exchanges very impractical. I’m pretty confident a medium would work but still a little hesitant. Definitely great looking caps though!!!

With the exception of this one that I have from them, which I picked up in a sample sale a few weeks back, None of the ones I have are fitted.
At the Sample Sale they were sadly pretty much all fitted. This was tagged a size medium but came up quite big. The only other fitted caps I have are the RMC A-3 mechanic caps in size 7 1/2 (which are a little bit snug but perfectly tolerable). Navy velvet wouldn’t have been close to my choice in a million years but actually really nice fabric in the flesh + the Mrs liked it and it was about £40.
Regarding the remaining Potens I have, they are all adjustable and I have seen a lot of the fabrics in both fitted and adjustable. My favourite is the olive fujinkabai canvas…... They are such nice hats so if you can find somewhere that will return them if you do not like, I would certainly recommend checking them out.
Olive canvas
Navy canvas (another one I was lucky enough to pick up from a sample sale) (soon to receive IH patch I feel)
Navy Chu-Zome iridescent nylon (the depth of it is a right fucker to photograph but certainly considering getting the olive one also).
Black (but looks more grey) chino cloth that posted earlier

Hey mate, put up the pics above just to show some of the fabrics. The fitted ones that I tried on in a medium seemed to come up quite big (as no way in a million years do I have a medium sized head and was amazed to get into one). If you can tolerate an adjustable one though, I would highly recommend.

Hi
I just want to give a shout out to Highland 2000. By far the warmest beanies I've ever owned. Pure wool cable knit beanie is a necessity and my Highland 2000 has never let me down. In fact its so warm i find it hard to wear in Autumn and Spring!

@ Cutlasshound Great caps. You look good!

Anyone know someplace in the states that sells Poten caps that have an adjustable strap on back and not just fitted? Self Edge looks to only have fitted ones, and the XXS says it's a 7 1/8. I'm usually between a 7-7 1/8, wouldn't want to drop that much on a cap that is too large.
